With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle into the tournament.

RAF Boulmer were making their second eurofootballfives.com appearance in Barcelona. They made their debut at the 2019 Gdansk Tournament with two teams. The B team enjoyed a very successful group phase with 5 wins and 1 draw from their 6 games against English, Finnish and Polish opposition. They scored 19 goals and conceded just 5 as they won Group A by 4 points. In the Cup Semi-Final they lost out 4-0 to the (then) holders of the Krakow Trophy and soon to be Gdansk Tournament champions – Big Time Krakow.

The A team started off well with a 2-2 draw against The Post Office before a 1-0 defeat to Clandestinos and 5-2 defeat to DDCH. They picked up their first win 3-1 v Pink Lloyd B before two more defeats as they finished 6 th of 7 teams in Group B. The Plate Quarter-Finals saw them defeated 3-0 by Rain Dragons.

It had been a disappointing start for RAF Boulmer going down 2-0 in Round 1. There was to be further disappointment in Round 2 as they encountered a rampant EMC French Nuts team. Alexis Bellec and Clement Yver both scored in the first half to put the French in control at the break.

There was no way back for RAF Boulmer in the second period and in fact EMC French Nuts extended their lead. Bruno Abjean scored his second and third goals of the tournament either side of Edouard Bernier's first goal of the day. 5-0.

Next up on Pitch A was Sharks (Spa) versus CBT FC (Eng).

Sharks were unbeaten in the group phase of the Barcelona Fives in a run that now extended to 5 games. They were also on a run of 4 consecutive wins. At the end of the first half it looked like a 5 th consecutive win was well withing their grasp as they lead 1-0 thanks to a strike from Daniel Clavijo.

This game proved to be quite a tight affair and CBT drew level in the second half with a goal from Jordan Hope who took his tournament tally to 3. It would not be enough for his team to earn a share of the points though as Sharks found a winning goal. It came from Savvas Effhydridar – his first of the day and what a time to get it. The three points went to Sharks who maintained their 100% start to the campaign.

To complete Round 2 we had Argon'ze A versus FC Yol. Both teams were looking to avenge first round defeats and ignite their 2022 Barcelona Fives challenge.

Argon'ze A were making their first appearance since the 2019 Budapest Fives. A slow start meant they lost their first two games (1-0 to Budasesh & 3-0 to Budapest Vikings) before winning 1-0 against John Lewis FC. They then succumbed to Budapest Celtic Tigers (2-1) before getting back to winning ways (2-1) against The Crazy Gang. They lost their final group game (1-0 to Fail Madrid) as they finished 6 th of 7 th teams in Group C. They qualified for the Trophy competition and won their semi-final 2-1 against Tom's Mum Is a Tramp FC. They missed out on success though as Slovakia's GSF Drunkerz won the Trophy Final, 2-0.

Following a respectable 4-2 defeat to Sharks in the opening encounter, Argon'ze A found it tough against an FC Yol team who seemed to have shaken off the cobwebs from their first game today. The English team made a great start to the match going 2-0 up in the opening period. They were ruthless in the second half as they not only secured the win but also boosted their goal difference with another three goals.

Cash Radford struck the first hat-trick of the day and he was ably supported by goals from Seb Campbell and Dan Gleeson. At the other end a clean sheet made this a hugely impressive recovery from their first game.
