Group C began with L'Albiceleste of France taking on Littleborough FC of England. It was one of the most experienced teams in our tournaments against a team on debut. L'Albiceleste had an amazing group record in our events.

2012 Budapest Fives:   P5 W4 D1 L0 F8 A1 Points – 13 (1st)

2012 Valencia Fives:   P4 W2 D2 L0 F10 A7 Points – 8 (1st)

2013 Mallorca Fives:   P5 W4 D1 L0 F13 A3 Points – 13 (1st)

2014 Berlin Fives: P4 W4 D0 L0 F14 A2 Points – 12 (1st)

2016 Riga Tournament: P5 W4 D0 L1 F14 A6 Points – 12 (1st)

2017 Barcelona Fives: P7 W5 D2 L0 F18 A4 Points – 17 (2nd)

2018 Algarve Open: P7 W7 D0 L0 F12 A1 Points – 21 (1st)

2019 Alicante Tournament: P5 W3 D1 L1   F8 A2 Points – 10 (4th)

Group Record Total: P42 W33 D7 L2 F97 A26 Points 106

In our first glimpse of Littleborough FC they had acquitted themselves quite well. Against a team who had won 3 titles they were certainly well in the game. Ultimately it would just be the one goal to settle matters and separate the two sides. It was a familiar scorer for the French team with Cedric Castarde (golden boot winner in the past) claiming the goal that secured all 3 points for L'Albiceleste.

Next up was Polonia Limerick (Pol) versus BBA Veterans (Eng).

BBA Veterans made their eurofootballfives.com debut here at the 2015 Barcelona Fives (as ABCDE FC) where they finished 2 nd in their group which in many cases would qualify them for the Cup but in Barcelona only saw them into the Plate competition. They defeated the Wealdstone Raiders 3-1 in the Quarter-Finals before a narrow 1-0 defeat to Drunk Perfect in the Semi-Finals.

When the action got going it was defences on top in an evenly contested game. Similar to the first match in Group C it would be a solitary strike that would separate the two teams. On this occasion it was Dan O'Neil who got BBA Veterans off to a winning start.

We finished the first round of games with Rapid B Pavas “home” to Norfolk N Chance.

Rapid B Pavas were the more experienced of the two teams with quite a history in this tournament:

November 2008: Winners.

June 2009: Won their group before losing on penalties in the Cup quarter-finals.

November 2009: Finished joint top of their group before going out in the Cup QF.

June 2010: Finished 2nd in their group before losing on penalties in the Cup Semi-Finals.

April 2011: Runners-Up.

November 2011: Finished 2nd in their group behind eventual winners Midshires FC. Then, went on and lost 3-0 in Cup Semi-Finals to Hungary's FC Miracle.

April 2012: Finished joint top of their group before losing to Hungary's Budapest Celtic Pumas via Golden Goal.

October 2013: Finished fourth in their group and knocked out in the Trophy Semi-Finals.

October 2014: Finished third in their group and knocked out in the Plate Quarter-Finals.

October 2015: Won Group E with 10 points out of 12. They were knocked out in the Cup Quarter-Final (4-0) by Elcombe Old Boys.

October 2016: 2 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats as they finished 6th of 8 teams in Group B. They qualified for the Trophy and went out on the Quarter-Finals (1-0) to Ealing Expendables.

Norfolk N Chance were on debut and made a flying start. Joe Sames scored his team's first goal in Europe before Josh Sullivan made it 2-0. Tom Connell made it 3-0 and the points looked in the bag. There was a bit of a late wobble though as Cecilio Garcia Leon and Faustino Lopez pulled it back to 3-2 but Norfolk N Chance had enough in the tank to see out the victory.
