Round 3 started with W London versus CE Llefia.

In 2021, CE Llefia became the first team to win two Barcelona Fives titles. They began well with a 5-1 win over Old Boys Blue Magic Dublin and a 6-0 win over Son Les Onze. They then slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Sharks but recovered to win their final group game 3-0 against FC Dad to secure second place in the table and Cup qualification. In the Cup Semi-Finals they were victorious 2-0 against Maresmex to set up a final against Sharks. Club Esportiu Llefia gained their revenge on Sharks to win 3-2 and become Barcelona Fives champions for the second time.

The Spanish team had enjoyed a decent start with 4 points from 6 but their opponents W London had tasted an even sweeter start as they had claimed the maximum 6 points on offer to date. They also lead the way at the top of the table on goal difference and were yet to concede in the tournament.

The two teams were locked together at 0-0 for much of this game. Half-time came and went with the teams still tied. Whilst both teams pushed for a winner late on there was to be no score as we finished the match at full-time, still 0-0.

Only time would tell if this a point gained or two points dropped for these two sides.

The next game was between AFC Blue Boys and Toe Punters.

AFC Blue Boys (Pol) made their debut here at the 2021 Barcelona Fives. They had a tough start against the 2015 Barcelona champions Club Esportiu Llefia and suffered 5-1 defeat. They bounced back with a 2-2 draw against Sharks (Spa) to get their first points on the board. In the next game against Son Les Onze (Spa) they slipped to a 2-0 defeat. They finished the group phase on a high as they defeated England's FC Dad 2-0 to claim third place in the group and progress to the Plate. They made it 2 wins out of 2 with a stunning win over 2018 Amsterdam Fives champions, Epsilon Rovers. It was not only a win but a comprehensive 3-0 victory. In the Plate Final they met FC Maroon and although they fell behind they recovered to draw 1-1 and take the game to penalties. Sadly for them, they missed out on glory though as they lost 2-1 on spot kicks.

Today the Polish had got off to the perfect start with 2 wins out of 2. They were up against a Toe Punters side who had lost 2 out of 2 but that doesn't tell the whole story – only a late winner prevented them getting a point against the defending champions last time out so this would be no easy game for AFC Blue Boys and so it proved.

AFC Blue Boys were unable to find a way through their opponents defence but they were also defensively strong themselves. Congratulations to Artur Kozloski, Will Jarman and their defences for the clean sheets. Final score, 0-0.
