As we entered the final Round of games there was still much to play for in Group D. Panteras and Los Langeros were up first with the Cup out of reach for both. Panteras needed a win to guarantee Plate qualification and a draw would give them a chance but needing Sporting Abeergut to lose. For Los Langeros the equation was simple – win and qualify for the Plate, anything less and the Trophy awaited them.

Things were working in the Irish team's favour early on as they opened the scoring through captain Kevin Burke. It was a lead they would hold until the break – it was a lead but a precarious one. As you would expect Panteras fought back and the fight back was rewarded with goals – two of them in fact.

Those two goals would earn them the point they needed as Los Langeros managed a 2-2 draw thanks to a goal from Colin Hegarty but could not produce a winner. Regardless of other results Los Langeros knew they would be playing Trophy football. Panteras had to sweat on other results to learn their fate.

Team Extreme were now guaranteed Plate football at worst but if they could win in their final game they would have a great chance of making the Cup. Gotti United and CBD Boys would play each other in the final game so if there was a win for either side in that one, a Team Extreme win would see them qualify for the Cup. If Gotti United and CBD Boys drew a Team Extreme would not be good enough unless they won by a 4 goal margin (a 3 goal margin would be good enough if CBD Boys and Gotti United was 0-0).

Regardless of the permutations Team Extreme just had to win, win well and hope for the best. Their opponents were Sporting Abeergut. Sporting had their own agenda knowing if they could fashion a win they would be joining Team Extreme in the Plate. Anything less and they would be joining Los Langeros in the Trophy.

Team Extreme were doing all they could to make the Cup and at the break they led 2-0 thanks to Magid El-Amin and Dave Cole. After the turnaround Chris Lees made it 3-0. The points were in the bag. Team Extreme would have to see if they had done enough. Sporting Abeergut now knew they would be in the Trophy.

As touched on above, Gotti United would play CBD Boys. A win would see the victors go through to the Cup with the losers going into the Plate. A 0-0 draw would see Team Extreme and Gotti United qualify (Gotti United on goal difference, Team Extreme on head to head versus CBD Boys as they had identical goal difference). A score draw would see Gotti United and CBD Boys qualify (Gotti United on goal difference, CBD Boys on goals scored).

In the opening half Adrian Tavain scored for CBD Boys which not only put them in pole position but it also meant that Team Extreme could not afford this game to finish level. Ultimately they did not need to worry as CBD Boys ran out 3-1 victors with Tavain scoring again along with an Amr Ahmed goal.

Andy Hanak scored for Gotti United but it was not enough. It was a bitter pill for Gotti United who had pretty much led the group from the start only to miss out at the final hurdle. They would play in the Plate competition.

The Cup awaited CBD Boys and Team Extreme.
