Next
up were our league leaders Gotti United against
Los Langeros. Having just suffered defeat, Gotti
United needed a positive result to bounce back
and re-affirm their status at the top which
was only goal difference. Irish team Los Langeros
came into the game on the back of their first
win and would hope to capitalize on their opponents
recent defeat which would actually put them
level on points.
Irish
hopes did not last long though as Gotti United
wasted no time in going 2-0 up thanks to Dean
Brown and Andy Hanak. The teams turned round
after the break and Gotti United continued where
they left off as Christopher Probst made it
3-0 and there was no way back for Los Langeros.
It
was a crucial win for Gotti United who opened
up a 2 point gap at the top (although CBD Boys
had a game in hand) and their chances of Cup
qualification were looking good. The result
was a blow to Los Langeros though who, with
a game to go, realistically were fighting for
qualification for the Plate or Trophy.
