So,
who would take their place in the Final from the
second Semi-Final? The two teams set to do battle
were FC Miracle of Hungary against Alphasights
of England.
FC
Miracle had now reached the Cup Quarter-Finals
in all 3 of their eurofooballfives.com tournaments.
So far, they had one victory (3-0 versus Spain's
Rapid Bosco Navas at the 2011 Barca Fives) and
one defeat (1-0 versus France's CFC A in the 2012
Algarve Open). Could they reach their second Cup
Final?
Their
opponents Alphasights were on an unbeaten run
of 7 games in eurofootballfives.com competition
and had picked up medals before in Krakow. That
was in the Plate, so far today they had showed
they were just at home in the step up in class
of the Cup competition.
We
had a keenly contested first half to enjoy and
as we entered the break FC Miracle held the advantage….it
was a narrow lead but an important lead, 2-1.
Goals from Janis Molnar and Csaba Balogh helping
them on their way. Andreas Friedberg, fresh from
his four goal salvo against CBD Boys, was scoring
again for Alphasights with his seventh of the
tournament.
After
the break Janos Molnar's 7 th goal of the tournament
extended the Hungarian lead to 3-1 and Alphasights
were really up against it. They really had to
throw caution to the wind to get back into it
and FC Miracle were more than capable of picking
their pockets on the break. Zoltan Rajki made
it 4-1 and FC Miracle were in the Final.
It
was farewell to Alphasights who had played well
in Krakow but were hugely impressive here in Valencia.
They've already declared an interest in returning
to tournament action in 2013 (destination unknown
as yet) and if they can show the same progression
from Krakow-Valencia as Valencia-2013 then there
could even be a tournament trophy headling back
to Alphasightsville. |
