Match
2 saw FC Miracle take on Kings Old Boys. FC
Miracle represent Hungary in the 2012 Valencia
Fives having made their nation proud at the
2011 Barca Fives in November. They made a fine
debut in a difficult group finishing level on
points with France's Luminy Wolves (2009 champions).
They went on to make the final where they led
1-0 for a period but ultimately missed out 2-1
to a strong Midshires FC team. In the 2012 Algarve
Open they were equally as strong winning Group
C and winning 5 successive games before losing
in the Cup Semi-Finals 1-0 to CFC A of France.
Will Valencia be third time lucky?
Kings
Old Boys began their eurofootballfives adventure
in the 2009 Barca Fives making the Plate Semi-Finals
and along the way proved they are an unusual
English team – they won a penalty shoot-out!
In the 2010 Amsterdam Fives they proved to be
a stronger outfit and made it through to the
Cup Semi-Finals where they suffered a narrow
1-0 loss to eventual champions Goldsmith Williams.
A return to Barcelona in April 2011 saw another
Cup qualification thanks to an impressive display
in the Group stage. Their quest was ended in
the Quarter-Finals when a Golden Goal by local
team Sesimbassa ended their title hopes. There
was glory in the 2011 Valencia Fives when Kings
Old Boys won the Plate title. Can they defend
their crown in 2012 or even take Cup glory?
What
followed was a 9-goal thriller. Mike Diprose
scored Kings Old Boys first goal of the day
but this was overshadowed in the first half
by a double strike from Csaba Balogh and a goal
from Laszlo Zsolt. Five further goals after
the break produced a 6-3 win for FC Miracle
with Laszlo Zsolt going on to complete a hat-trick
and Janos Molnar also scoring. For Kings Old
Boys Adam Edwards and Stephen Walker found the
net but in vain.
