Round
5 had a much reduced programme due to the disqualifications
which left just Bristol Bridge versus Saga Louts
to come. We can only apologise to Team Also Ran
and Shahs of Sunset who would play one less game
that originally scheduled.
It
meant Saga Louts had the chance to finish second
in the table if they could secure a win. In fact,
a draw would be good enough to serve this purpose.
If Bristol Bridge could fashion a victory then
we would have a particularly interesting situation
with three teams tied for second position on 3
points and everything would come down to goal
difference.
As
it was, we were spared some complicated maths
courtesy of Saga Louts eeking out a 2-1 victory
with Jason Carr scoring what proved to be the
winning goal. It meant that Shahs of Sunset and
Saga Louts would progress to the Cup competition.
Team Also Ran and Bristol Bridge would finish
in 3rd and 4th respectively and qualify for the
Plate competition.
