Going into the final round of games, the main jeopardy was who would take the second Cup qualification place. FC Poloboc had won Group B already and AFC Shooters were eliminated. There were 3 teams vying for that second Cup qualification place with just 1 point separating those 3 teams. Whichever two teams missed out would join FC Tpaktop II and Shrewsbury Townsend in the Plate but the order of those league places was still up for grabs.

First up was Les 5 Salopards versus Shrewsbury Townsend. Les 5 Salopards were a point behind World Pinteur and level with The A Team on points and goal difference. At this stage, all Les 5 Salopards could do was try and win and then hope that would be enough. Shrewsbury Townsend needed to better the result of FC Tpaktop II to finish in fifth position.

Shrewsbury Townsend's form had been improved over the last few games and it was they who took the lead in this one, 1-0. Matty Horne with the goal that put them in the ascendency. Les 5 Salopards had been competitive in all their games to date and had recovered from losing situations before. They did so here as Nadir Tarbi converted his 6 th goal of the day to make it 1-1. The game would not end 1-1 though as we had one goal left in this game. When the goal came it was Shrewsbury Townsend's Sean Emmott on target to win it 2-1. It was a hammer blow to Les 5 Salopards and ended their bid to reach the Cup and win the Prague Veterans title. They still had a chance for glory in the Plate though.

At the start of Round 7 there was FC Poloboc and 1 of 3 French teams due to qualify for the Cup. That equation had changed. It was now FC Poloboc and 1 of 2 French teams following Les 5 Salopards' defeat in the previous fixture. World Pinteur had the advantage in the table being one point ahead of The A Team. They had the disadvantage in terms of their opponent as they were up against the league winners.

It was the league leaders who continued their striking form as Grigore Badea put the Moldovan side 1-0 up. 1-0 became 2-0 as Andrian Cucovei doubled the lead. With 12 consecutive wins in eurofootballfives.com competition and 2-0 up it looked like World Pinteur would be relying on results elsewhere to help them qualify for the Cup.

However, whilst the game was still ongoing fate was still in World Pinteur's hands. Adrien Maurel gave them hope when he reduced the lead to 2-1. Anicet Onowa gave them more than hope when he equalized for 2-2. It was a sensational comeback and a fantastic draw. Would a draw be enough though? It did mean that it forced The A Team into needing a win from their last game.

A 13th consecutive win had eluded FC Poloboc. 13, unlucky for some? Not really. FC Poloboc were still 13 games unbeaten. They were still Group B winners. They were still one of the favourites to lift this title.

The final game of Group B was The A Team versus FC Tpaktop II. At the top, The A Team were currently 2 points behind World Pinteur so their task was simple – win the game and qualify for the Cup. When we say simple we mean the equation was simple not necessarily the task. Anything less for The A Team and they would be in the Plate competition.

FC Tpaktop II were already through to the Plate. They currently sat in 6th position due to Shrewsbury Townsend's earlier win in Round 7. If FC Tpaktop II were to win they'd move back up to 5th. Anything less and they'd remain in 6 th and have a tougher Plate Quarter-Final team against the third place side from Group A.

If the pressure was on The A Team before kick-off it was ramped up when FC Tpaktop II took the lead through Artiom Vlasov who took his tally to the day to three goals. The A Team had an uphill task on their hands which became a mountain to climb when FC Tpaktop II doubled their lead with Aleksandr Tabunsic's second of the day.

World Pinteur would have been cheering on FC Tpaktop II against their countrymen – no time for national loyalty when Cup qualification is at stake! FC Tpaktop II held onto the win as The A Team drew a blank in front of goal. Final score, 2-0 and World Pinteur were through to the Cup. The A Team through to the Plate.

In the end, there were just 3 points separating 2nd place and 6th position. Whilst the three French teams dominated the Cup qualification race due to the chronology of the fixtures, it really could have been any of those 5 teams with a different result here or there.
