At
the start of Round 7 there was FC Poloboc and
1 of 3 French teams due to qualify for the Cup.
That equation had changed. It was now FC Poloboc
and 1 of 2 French teams following Les 5 Salopards'
defeat in the previous fixture. World Pinteur
had the advantage in the table being one point
ahead of The A Team. They had the disadvantage
in terms of their opponent as they were up against
the league winners.
It
was the league leaders who continued their striking
form as Grigore Badea put the Moldovan side
1-0 up. 1-0 became 2-0 as Andrian Cucovei doubled
the lead. With 12 consecutive wins in eurofootballfives.com
competition and 2-0 up it looked like World
Pinteur would be relying on results elsewhere
to help them qualify for the Cup.
However,
whilst the game was still ongoing fate was still
in World Pinteur's hands. Adrien Maurel gave
them hope when he reduced the lead to 2-1. Anicet
Onowa gave them more than hope when he equalized
for 2-2. It was a sensational comeback and a
fantastic draw. Would a draw be enough though?
It did mean that it forced The A Team into needing
a win from their last game.
A
13th consecutive win had eluded FC Poloboc.
13, unlucky for some? Not really. FC Poloboc
were still 13 games unbeaten. They were still
Group B winners. They were still one of the
favourites to lift this title.
