Round 4 of Group A began with AC Motxto International versus FC Mahou. Both these teams played at the 2019 Alicante Tournament.

AC Motxo International competed in the Open Age and the Veterans events. In the Open Age it was a tricky start with a 3-1 defeat to Lostwithiel FC and 2-0 defeat to L'Albiceleste of France. They chalked up their first win against Brewin Dolphin (3-0) before a 2-0 defeat to Galacticos and 1-0 defeat to 9 Nana Budds. They qualified for the Plate Quarter-Finals and defeated Turn Down For Watford, 3-2. Their run ended in the Semis when they met L'Albiceleste again and lost 2-1 this time. At Veterans level, they started off with a 1-0 defeat to The Blackouts before a 2-2 draw with Mavericks. A 2-0 loss to Esparta (the eventual winners) followed before finishing the group with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Salv's Ancient Army. They qualified for the Plate again and went into the Semi-Finals. They drew 1-1 with fellow Spanish team CT1 but went out on penalties.

FC Mahou were in the Veterans section only and it was another successful and unbeaten group campaign. They finished joint top on 13 points with Dream Team (Spa), both teams had scored 15 goals but Dream Team conceded one less goal so won the group. FC Mahou went into the Cup competition and met Esparta (Spa) but lost 3-1 to the eventual tournament winners.

So far today AC Motxto were unbeaten but their Achilles heel was the opening goal as they'd conceded first in all 3 games thus far. Make that in all 4 games so far as Oliver James made it 1-0 to FC Mahou. Oliver James scored again to increase the lead to 2-0. AC Motxto hadn't fallen two behind thus far and so this would be a real challenge for them to keep their unbeaten status. Ruben Torres Mejias got them back into the game at 2-1 but they'd given themselves too much to do as FC Mahou ran out 2-1 winners to open up a 3 point lead at the top.

FC Mahou's win had seen them open a 3 point lead at the top but AleaI acta Est had a chance to join them if they could defeat Southgate Tourists.

Alea Iacta Est (Pol) made a strong debut in our tournaments at both the 2018 and 2019 Gdansk Tournaments they finished second in the group phase but went out in the Cup QF and Cup SF respectively. In 2020, they competed at home in Warsaw, finishing second in Group A with 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, and advanced to their first Cup Final after a thrilling penalty shootout win over FC Foreigntina. However, they narrowly lost to Yac Club (1-0).

They then had 3 successive appearances at the 2021 Trophy. In 2021 they placed third in their group and won the Plate competition by defeating GSF Drunkerz (4-0) in the Semi-Finals and Giggs Boson (1-0) in the final. In 2022, they excelled in the Veterans tournaments in Krakow, winning Group B and the Cup Final with a dramatic 4-3 victory over Thursday Veterans. In 2023, they participated in the Open Age Krakow Trophy but did not progress past the group stage despite a notable 5-0 win over TaHu of Finland.

That 2023 performance was an anomaly as they were flying today. Southgate Tourists were struggling for results with just 1 from 9 but that doesn't tell the whole story. They'd had a tough fixture against FC Mahou, a draw and a narrow 1-0 loss. Despite that caveat, Alea Iacta Est did prove too strong for the English side. Pedro Silveira scored for the second game on the bounce to make it 1-0 before a double from Piotr Malenczak sealed the victory. Notably there was a second clean sheet in three games for Pawel Szymanski.

Game 12 of Group A was FC Tpaktop I versus IFC Prague. Before kick off, FC Tpaktop I were in third position, just three points behind the top two teams. After a shaky start with a loss in their first game, they had bounced back impressively, winning their next two matches without conceding a goal. Their opponents, IFC Prague, were struggling in fifth place with just one draw and one defeat but they did have a game in hand on most other teams.

The match began with FC Tpaktop I showing their intent to climb to the top of the table. Albert Abutaliev was the standout player, demonstrating his attacking prowess. Midway through the game, Abutaliev broke the deadlock with a well-placed shot, giving FC Tpaktop I a 1-0 lead. Abutaliev struck again, doubling his tally and securing a 2-0 victory for FC Tpaktop I. Their defence remained solid throughout, maintaining their record of not conceding a goal in their last three matches. This crucial victory keot FC Tpaktop I firmly in the title race and moved level on points with FC Mahou and Alea Iacta Est although they remained third due to goal difference. IFC Prague, on the other hand, remained in fifth place, struggling to get points on the board.
