Round 3 started with FC Poloboc back in action against FC Tpaktop II. FC Poloboc became the first team to represent Moldova in our events when they competed at the 2023 Mallorca Veterans tournament. They made a great start with a 2-1 win over Polonia Limerick. They followed this up with 3-0 wins against Southgate Ramblers and 5-2 against Wafty Crankers. In their final group game they met FC Miracle to decide who would win Group C. The match finished 1-1 and FC Poloboc finished second due to goal difference. In the Cup Quarter-Finals they also drew 1-1 with World Pinteur Mature of France but went through 3-0 on penalties. It was another close match in the Semi-Finals as they defeated AFC Blue Boys 2-1. In the Cup Final they came up against a very strong side in Duktil Balear as the Spanish side won 2-0.

FC Tpaktop were also competing at the same 2023 Mallorca Veterans tournament but they did not meet FC Poloboc. As a form guide, FC Tpaktop won 2 and lost 2 in the group phase to finish in third position in the table. They qualified for the Plate and won their QF against Peebles All Stars 1-0 before a SF exit to Polonia Limerick on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

It was Artiom Vlasov who opened the scoring to make it 1-0 to FC Tpaktop. Leonid Cigureanu scored twice in the previous round and he was on target again to make it 1-1 for FC Poloboc. They completed the turnaround in the game when Sergiu Darii struck a winner to give FC Poloboc all 3 points. The win meant they joined The A Team and World Pinteur at the top of Group B.

The next game was FC Poloboc's third fixture against Shrewsbury Townsend who were playing in their second game.

A full strength Shrewsbury Townsend may find life difficult against FC Poloboc but a depleted side had their work cut out. FC Poloboc were on a run of 9 consecutive victories in our events dating back to their second game at the 2023 Barcelona Veterans. Leonid Cigureanu had scored in both the Moldovans games this morning and he was to continue his fine personal performance as he opened the scoring in this game. Andrian Cucovei was on target in their opening game and he added to his tally here. 2-0 became 3-0 when Veaceslav Ganta opened his personal account.

Sergiu Darii scored for the second game in a row to seal the game at 4-0. It was his team's 10th win on the bounce – they had scored 30 goals in that period and conceded just 5.

There was certainly no shame for Shrewsbury Townsend in defeat and they still had time to kickstart their campaign.
