3 rounds completed with 4 to go. At the start of Round 4 it was two of the teams at the top: FC Poloboc (Mda) versus The A Team (Fra). Both teams boasted 100% records today with FC Poloboc 3 wins out of 3 and The A Team 2 wins out of 2. For one, or both, of these teams that 100% record would be ended during this tie.

We'd just seen in Round 3, that FC Poloboc were on a run of 10 consecutive victories in our tournaments. In the wider context they had played 18 games in our events with 14 victories, 2 draws and 2 defeats. They were a team in a rich vein of form and high on confidence. Even a team like The A Team, with 3x Open Age Cup Finals on their CV, would find it difficult to take on the Moldovan juggernaut at this current time.

The goals and the victories just kept flowing for FC Poloboc. They had goals from all areas of the pitch and this time it was Victor Zagorneanu who gave them the lead. Their chief marksman today had been Leonid Cigureanu and he scored for the fourth game today. He scored twice to take his tournament tally to 6 goals.

The game finished 3-0. FC Poloboc opened up a 6-point lead at the top of Group B and their consecutive win count reached 11 games. Impressive!

Due to the fixture re-arrangements and the fact that Round 3 was their turn to have a round off, World Pinteur had waited a little while for their third game. They were top of the table when they last walked off the pitch. Now, they walked onto Pitch D six points adrift as FC Poloboc had hoovered up the points in their 4 games. World Pinteur still had a 100% record and if they could maintain that then they would be able to join FC Poloboc on top. At the moment though they could forge ahead into second on their own with victory.

Les Salopards had just picked up their first win following two early defeats. They had done so without conceding in a 3-0 win over AFC Shooters and solid defence was to be the bedrock of the Les 5 Salopards performance in this game. They kept a second successive clean sheet and then managed to strike at the other end to take all 3 points.

Julien Grosso scored for the second game running to earn victory for his team. It meant we had three French teams locked together on 6 points in joint second place with Moldova out ahead and England/CIS teams chasing.

Game 12 of Group B was to be the only all-England encounter in Group B. It's not often we have a group consisting of 21 games with just one English derby but that was the case today. AFC Shooters were looking for their first win having a draw under their belts. Shrewsbury Townsend were looking for their first goal/points of the day.

Shrewsbury Townsend had gained support since their early fixures with one of their players being able to re-arrange their flights and make it to the event with a flight this morning. It was great commitment to the cause. With their numbers boosted this had a psychological and physical boost to the team on the field.

Matty Horne was the man on target to break their tournament duck and, like the proverbial London buses, the goals continued to flow. Joey Massarella doubled the advantage before Sean Emmott sealed the points. There was a clean sheet for Joe Croft in goal and suddenly everything looked rosier in the Shrewsbury Townsend camp.
