The
Bernabeu Butchers and JNJ Global Services had
both come through extremely close Quarter-Finals
and may have been a little leg-weary after a bout
of extra time on top of the 5 games they had played
thus far. It was perhaps no surprise that we had
another close game in store for us and one where
goals were at a premium. Simon Pike, with the
help of his defence, managed to keep his second
clean of the knock-out phase for the Bernabeu
Butchers. His forwards were finding the opposing
keeper, Gordon MacIntosh, in equally fine form.
In the previous game he saved a penalty in the
shoot-out and was proving just as tough to beat
in this encounter. He preserved his clean sheet
too and we were into extra time once again. In
déjà vu of the Bernabeu Butchers
previous game we saw another Golden Goal and that
Golden Goal was scored for the second match running
by James Halliday. This was cruel luck on JNJ
Global Services who had now lost out in the Plate
Semi-Finals on three occasions in four tournaments.
We are sure a Final is just around the corner
for them but it would be the Bernabeu Butchers
who would reach that stage today. |
