Group A began with SK Zelenec taking on Irish debutants Celtic Craic. SK Zelenec have a great eurofootballfives pedigree with 3 cup semi finals (all losing to the eventual winners) and one less successful performance in the 2009 Prague Trophy when they failed to get out of their group. Which SK Zelenec would turn up today? Unfortunately for Celtic Craic it was the semi final achieving SK Zelenec as they were ruthless in an 11-0 demolition of their opponents. Jiri Jindra (top goalscorer in the 2009 Prague Masters) claimed 5 goals with Stanislav Krebs (2) Peter Brtka, Filip Esner, Radek Sulta and Petr Hosl all contributing with goals.

Next up was Cheesecake FC who were making their debut against regular eurofootballfives participants DHL Prague Blue. Cheesecake FC took no time in finding their feet in our tournament as Mark Hignett opened the scoring before Waseem Khalique and then Christopher Mort made it 3-0 by half time. The second half was to get even better for them as Mark Hignett went on to complete his hat-trick, Khalique bagged a second before Tim Horan and Mark Martell completed the scoring with goals numbers 7 and 8. A comprehensive 8-0 win to start their campaign in style.

The final team to begin their Group A challenge was the CSF, who were competing in Prague for the second time after Plate Runners up appearance in he 2007 Prague Trophy. Since then their travels have included Amsterdam , Algarve , Barcelona , Krakow and Valencia on the eurofootballfives circuit. They were back in Prague to see if they could improve on that 2007 result and started off well against SK Zelenec. The teams were level at 1-1 going into half time thanks to Petr Hosl and the increasingly regular rare headed goal from James Nott. The game changed late on when Stanislav Krebs put SK Zelenec 2-1 up. From there two more goals from Petr Brtka and Petr Hosl again made it 4-1 with a scoreline a bit harsh on the CSF.

Celtic Craic ran into a SK Zelenec juggernaut in game 1 and the last thing they needed was to face a Cheesecake FC team who had bagged 8 in their opening fixture. Celtic Craic were to be on the wrong end of the scoreline again as Cheesecake FC him them for six, quite literally, in the first half. Justin Rees, Mark Hignett (2), Waseem Khalique (2) and Mark Martell were all on target. The second half was no better for Celtic Craic as Justin Rees and Mark Martell both complete their hat- tricks. Julian Cornelius gave Celtic Craic something to cheer with a consolation goal in a 10-1 defeat.

The next game was DHL Prague Blue versus CSF, both looking for their first points of the tournament. These teams have played in more eurofootballfives.com tournaments than any other with DHL Prague playing in their 12 th tournament and the CSF making appearance number 8. They have met along the way on two occasions with DHL Prague winning on both occasions (1-0 in the 2007 Prague Trophy and 4-0 in the 2008 Barca Fives).

Back on the pitch in 2010 and it was DHL Prague Blue who drew first blood when Alfa Diallo put the Czech team 1-0 up and take a slender advantage into the second half. The game was a close contest in the second period too, but it was the local team who would claim all 3 points as Alfa Diallo scored two more to outgun Michael Ofori's strike for the CSF. Ofori's goal was the CSF's first against DHL in three attepts. The final score was 3-1 with Diallo's hat-trick, the 4th in 5 free scoring Group A games. It also represented a hat-trick of DHL victories against the CSF.
