Going into the final round of games, PMPCAR had already secured Cup qualification and they needed just 1 more point to win the Group B title. Their opponents would be Hampstead Heath Cruisers who were still in the hunt for Cup qualification themselves.

Hampstead Heath Cruisers simply had to win otherwise third would be the highest they could finish. They needed to win and hope Athletico Armada defeated Spider Mans 5hitters and they would go through in second place. A 3 goal win (or more) to Hampstead Heath Cruisers and a draw for Spider Mans 5hitters would them go through on goal difference/goals scored. However, as PMPCAR had only conceded once all day it would take a mammoth task for that latter scenario.

So, Hampstead Heath Cruisers had to win and then hope for a favour. They could only control the first part of that equation and their task was made harder when Pedro Domingos put PMPCAR 1-0 up. Ivo Beatty's fourth goal of the tournament got the Cruisers back on level terms at 1-1 and it was game on again.

The third goal of the game must have been a killer psychologically. Pedro Domingos scored his 9th of the tournament to make it 2-1 to PMPCAR. Hampstead Heath Cruisers now needed to score twice. Instead, the next goal went to Goncalo Correira as they rounded off a 3-1 win.

PMPCAR were Group B champions. Hampstead Heath Cruisers would progress to the Plate.

 
 
 

The above result settled a lot of the what ifs and permutations of this game. It effectively made this a straight shoot-out for second place between Spider Mans 5hitters and Athletico Armada. Spider Mans 5hitter were strong favourites as they sat on 12 points with a +10 goal difference. Athletico Armada were on 9 points with a +2 goal difference. A 4 goal win would equalize goal difference and Athletico Armada would go through on goals scored.

Last time out, Athletico Armada defeated Spider Mans Two 6-1 so it was certainly possible but the odds were stacked against them. Those odds lengthened when Spider Mans 5hitters took the lead. Sam Walker with the goal that made his team's position that bit more scure.

Seb Dunnett turned 1-0 until 2-0 and even if Spider Mans 5hitters went on to lose this game their position in the Cup now seemed safe. In fact, they went on to increase their lead to 3-0 as Sam A'Court scored his third of the day and 19 th in eurofootballfives.com tournaments. Final score, 3-0.

 
 
 

To dot the i's and cross the t's in Group B we added Lads of Lisboa's 3-0 walkover to the table. The knock-out phase awaited.
