Round 7 would kick-off with Missing Magpies versus Indoorsoccer Café O Trem. It was mathematically possible for Missing Magpies to qualify for the Cup in second place with a win but they would need a big win and other results to fall perfectly for them. All the possible scenarios coming in together were unlikely. They could still finish much higher up the table to give them a better place in the Plate draw.

It was perhaps a good time to play against Indoorsoccer Café O Trem as they had already secured Cup qualification and the Group A win regardless of the final results in Round 7. Maybe they would relax and give Missing Magpies a chance.

It wasn't to be. Indoorsoccer Café O Trem competed just as well as they had done throughout. The same was true for Missing Magpies. The English team had drawn their first 3 games and they looked on course for a fourth draw. The game was locked at 0-0 until the final minute of the game. Joao Braguura popped up with a goal at the death to snatch all 3 points for the Portuguese.

The final fixture of Group A was Hellgarve Kraken's versus Black Dog's Bald Club. There was a lot at stake for Hellgarve Kraken's – a defeat or draw would see them finish in third place and progress to the Plate competition. A win would put them level with Pangare Futebol Clube on 11 points but they would need a 12 goal win to move above the Brazilians into second place. A lesser win would mean third position and the Plate despite victory.

Black Dog's Bald Club FC knew this would be their final game. They would finish in seventh place regardless of the result and be eliminated. However, they could go out with a bang and put a fly in the Hellgarve Kraken's ointment.

Hellgarve Kraken's set about their task and went 2-0 up. Tiago Nogueira scored both of the goals. James Jagger then pulled a back for Black Dog's Bald Club FC and although it might not change the result it put a big enough dent in the Hellgarve Kraken's charge that they were never going to get a big enough win to depose Pangare Futebol Clube in second place.

The men from the Algarve were not done yet though. Marco Baptista added a third to seal a 3-1 victory. Hellgarve Kraken's would miss out on the Cup by goal difference. A bitter pill.

We had to say farewell to Black Dog's Bald Club FC. It was great to see them on tour and a great addition to our tournaments. We trust you all had a good time in Lisbon and at the tournament (despite results not quite going your way).
