Round 3 started with Spider Mans 5hitters versus Lads of Lisboa. Lads of Lisboa had just played the Spider Mans Twos team and lost 1-0.

2015 Budapest Fives: Spider Mans & Eagles won 3-0.

2016 Krakow Trophy: Spider Mans & Great Hawk won 2-0

2018 Riga Tournament: Spiders Mans Ressies won 8-1.

2019 Lisbon Tournament: Spider Mans Twos won 1-0.

As you can see, this would be Lads of Lisboa's (also known as Fleet Street Elite) fifth game against Spider Mans in their various forms and history was firmly on the side of men in Batman shirts.

It was to become 5 wins out of 5 as Spider Mans 5hitters scored 5. Alistair Stewart started the ball rolling with a fine right footed strike from distance. Sam A'Court, Adam Woodmansey and Sam Walker all followed suit to make it 4-0. Alistair Stewart then completed what he started to round off a 5-0 win.

We went into Game 8 of Group B with Athletico Armada due to meet PMPCAR.

PMPCAR made their debut in September's 2017 Lisbon Tournament. In their 8-team group they won 3, drew 1 and lost 3 of their group games. Their haul of 10 points left them in fifth position but a level goal difference showed they were competitive throughout. They qualified for the Plate and picked up a 3-0 win over Tommie's Guns in the Quarter-Finals. In the Semi-Finals they drew 2-2 with AAK S&S but went out on penalties (4-3).

At the 2018 Lisbon Tournament they won their first 2 group games and drew their next 2 games. They lost their unbeaten record in their final group fixture which saw them slip to third and into the Plate qualification places. In the Plate they won their Quarter-Final 1-0 over Morocco's ASCPM before a 6-1 defeat in the Semi-Finals to 2017 Cup Winners, Pangare Futebol Clube.

Due to sitting out Round 1 and a walkover in Round 2 this was a delayed start for the Portuguese but they made up for lost time. Tiago Sousa (x2), Nelson Virgilio and Pedro Domingos all scored to seal a very good 4-0 win.

The next game was between Spider Mans Twos and Hampstead Heath Cruisers. Spider Mans Twos had lost their opener 2-1 but hit back with a 1-0 win last time out. Hampstead Heath Cruisers had lead Group B at the start of Round 3. PMPCAR and Spider Mans 5hitters had now joined them on 6 points but the Cruisers had an opportunity here to open up a 3 point gap.

It started off well for Spider Mans Twos who could make it a 4-team share of the lead on 6 points with a win. Danny Foy scored the opening goal of the game for them.

Hampstead Heath Cruisers came from behind in Round 2 and they were to do so again. Ivo Beatty with the equalizing strike. They then hit another purple patch with Ivo Beatty making it 2-1 and Steve Slocombe scoring for 3-1. Ross Crampnell made it 4-1 before Steve Slocombe scored his sixth of the tournament (currently top goalscorer) for 5-1. Spider Mans Twos would have the final word as Dom Rice reduced arrears to 5-2 but, alas for them, it was a mere consolation.
