JNJ
Russia B and JNJ Wuppertal A met head to head
in the next game and the pressure was on with
the English team from High Wycombe winning in
the previous match. Only a win would be good
enough to maintain a presence at the top of
the table. A draw would not be the end of the
world but leave them with work to do. The worst
possible result was a defeat that would see
the losers lose ground.
It
was JNJ Wuppertal A who took the lead through
Oliver Droscher. It was the third game in a
row where the German team had taken the lead
– first time out they held on for victory, second
time out they were pegged back for a draw. They
did concede again as Maxim Zilberman scored
for JNJ Russia B but for the first time today
JNJ Wuppertal A scored a second goal as Volker
Elgert found the net. Elgert's goal proved to
be the winner as JNJ Russia B could not find
the elusive equalizer. Final score, 2-1 to JNJ
Wuppertal A.
The
German team joined JNJ High Wycombe Wanderers
at the top of the table. JNJ Russia B had lost
ground but were only 3 points off top with two
games to go so they still had much to play for.
