GBS Reds B and GTSC met in their final Group A games. It was effectively a winner takes all tie as the victors would guarantee a place in the afternoon Plate competition. Defeat for GBS Reds B would almost certainly mean a place in the Wooden Spoon, a defeat for GTSC could still mean Plate qualification subject to other results in other groups but a draw would guarantee it.

With the games underway it was GTSC who went ahead through Kevin Maes. It was the first time they had been ahead since Round 2 when they led JNJ Croatia. On that occasion they slipped to defeat but there would be no repeat in this fixture as they went goal crazy. Bram Vercauteren scored twice in the first half and once in the second half for a fine hat-trick and there were further goals for Dimitri Turelinckx and Kevin Maes again. With three goals in each half it was a comprehensive 6-0 victory. The Belgian team moved into 4th place although JNJ Pinewood had a game in hand. Either way, they were assured on a place in the Plate.

GBS Reds B would finish in 6th position and looking at Groups B and C would play in the Wooden Spoon as one of the 17th /18th ranked teams in the tournament.

The penultimate game of Group A was JNJ Croatia versus JNJ Russia A. It was a top of the table clash and although both teams had qualified for the Cup already there was still much to play for. A win for either would secure the Group A title, in theory an easier Quarter-Final tie and beyond all that national pride and honour. In the event of a draw JNJ Croatia would win Group A courtesy of superior goal difference.

The first goal came from JNJ Russia A as Valery Shoumov scored his first goal since the opening game and it was the team from Moscow who led 1-0 at half-time. At full time it was 2-1 as although Neven Marinic scored for JNJ Croatia, Gaspar Arutyunov's fourth goal of the day ensured it would be 5 wins out 5 for the Russian team.

JNJ Russia A had won Group A, JNJ Croatia would finish 2nd and congratulations to both for reaching the Cup competition. Both teams were looking good and no-one would want to draw them in the Cup Quarter-Finals.

The 15th and final game of Group A was JNJ Pinewood versus Team Zug. Before the game JNJ Pinewood sat in 5th position but a win would see them finish in 3rd place and finish above their opponents. It could potentially mean a Cup place subject to other results. A draw would mean JNJ Pinewood finish 4th and qualify for the Plate, a defeat would mean 5th place and Plate qualification. For Team Zug a win would put them on 9 points and in a strong position as a 3rd place Cup qualifier. A draw would mean 7 points, 3rd place but probably Plate qualification subject to Group B and C results. A defeat would mean 4th place and certain Plate qualification. Clear as mud eh?

Team Zug had started off with two wins but since slipped to two defeats – momentum was working against them. It was going in favour of JNJ Pinewood though who following two defeats had secured 4 points out of 6 and that continued in this game as Matt Walker scored for the third consecutive game. It proved to be the only goal of the game and they finished 3rd. They were on a run of three games unbeaten and, as it turned out, they missed out on the Cup but would go through to the Plate with confidence and as one of the favourites for that particular competition. Team Zug would join them in the Plate.
