Game 7 of Group B was an important fixture for JNJ Medical and even more so for JNJ Wuppertal B. JNJ Medical had just picked up their first win and another here would put them on 6 points and joint top – temporarily at least. JNJ Wuppertal B only had 1 point to show for their efforts thus far and they needed a win to give them a boost up the Group B table.

It was looking good for JNJ Medical at half-time as they were 1-0 up thanks to Graeme Stewart. In Round 2 they built upon a 1-0 lead and ran out 4-0 victors but history would not repeat itself here. JNJ Wupperal B scored their first goal of the day through Andre Jung to equalize.

At 1-1 things got even better for JNJ Wuppertal B as Erdem Basak made it 2-1. The comeback was then complete when Basak made it 3-1 and JNJ Medical were unable to respond. It made the group very interesting as JNJ Wuppertal rose to second position on 4 points. JNJ Medical would slip down the table but with two games left there was still enough points to play for to reach the Cup and keep their title hopes alive.

GBS Reds C were next in action on pitch B as they took on Team Baltic. A win for the home team would put them top and was quite an incentive. Team Baltic were looking for their first points of the day.

It was all quite tight early on in what was a pretty even contest. We reached the half-time interval all level at 0-0. This was not in the plan for GBS Reds C and would represent a blow to their Cup ambitions but in the second half they got the goal they needed when Marcel Ghezzo put GBS Reds C ahead. He went on to score his second of the game and third of the tournament and seal a 2-0 win that put them on top of Group B.

GBS Reds C were making a mockery of their “C” team status as they now had 7 points from a maximum 9 available. For Team Baltic it was a case of close but no cigar and they remained in 6th position.

To complete Round 3 we had JNJ Serbia versus JNJ Belgium A Team to look forward to. JNJ Belgium A Team so far had a 100% record and were yet to concede so it would not be easy for JNJ Serbia. A win for the Belgians here would put them two points clear at the top, a draw would see them on top purely by goal difference but defeat could potentially see them slip to third.

For JNJ Serbia they could join go make it three teams separated by just 1 point at the top with a win but it would not be easy against strong opposition. Things started well though when Marko Matanovic went 1-0 up in the first half. It was the first time the Belgium A Team had gone behind – how would they respond?

They responded in style as Kris Wauters made it 1-1. Neither team could find a winning goal and it meant a well-deserved draw for both teams.
