Round 4 of Group A began with JNJ Croatia against GBS Reds B. JNJ Croatia had been pretty formidable thus far and looking in impressive form. With 3 wins out of 3 they were odds on to make it 4 wins out of 4 and keep their 100% record going. GBS Reds B had found Group A tough so far and this game would certainly not be any easier.

The team at the top opened the scoring through Neven Marinic and they never looked back. Petar Matic made it 2-0 before Berislav Paic made it 3-0. The half-time interval gave GBS Reds B a brief respite but in the second period it was a familiar story as Petar Matic made it 4-0. Zlatko Glavas got in on the act to make it 5-0 before Patrik Godec's fifth of the tournament made it 6-0. Josep Grilec completed the scoring in a sensational 7-0 victory….the biggest of the day in Group A.

JNJ Croatia moved on to 12 points, secured their place in the Cup and were certainly emerging as contenders for the overall tournament title. It was a crushing blow for GBS Reds B who would have to put this result behind them. They were currently staring at a place in the Wooden Spoon but a result in their last game could see them qualify for the Plate.

JNJ Pinewood had just earned their first victory and if they could take this momentum on and put a string of results together Cup qualification was in reach but they needed victories. They met GTSC who were looking to earn their first points of the day and any points would be welcome to help them reach the Plate.

It was first blood to JNJ Pinewood and the English team was looking good to continue their upturn in form. Matt Walker's second goal in as many games put them 1-0 up and at half-time they were on course for earning their second win in a row.

GTSC had other ideas though and in the second half they equalized through Dimitri Turelinckx. There was to be no further addition to the score and the game finished 1-1. GTSC were in 5th position on their own and looked like they would be playing in the Plate although GBS Reds B could still change this.

The Belgian equalizer was a hammer blow for JNJ Pinewood as it slowed their recovery and made Cup qualification very difficult now. They remained in 4th position.

Round 4 would be concluded with JNJ Russia A taking on Team Zug. JNJ Russia A were hot on the heels of JNJ Croatia and if they could turn 9 points into 12 points in this game they would make it a two-team tie at the top of Group A. Team Zug had started the tournament just as well with two wins out of two but suffered defeat to JNJ Croatia in the previous fixture. Could they get back to winning ways? If they could then they would finish 3rd in Group A at worst and would look good to qualify for the Cup.

In these games the first goal can often be crucial as when you are behind and chasing the game it's easy to concede on the counter attack. Valery Melnikov's fourth goal of the tournament for JNJ Russia A was therefore a very important goal. It gave them a 1-0 half-time lead and put the pressure on Team Zug.

In the second half Vladimir Doroshenkov's third goal of the tournament made it 2-0 and Team Zug were staring at defeat. The game was following the same pattern as their match versus JNJ Croatia and this continued when Gaspar Arutyunov made it 3-0 to the Russian team. The game ended and the final score was 3-0.

JNJ Russia A were guaranteed their place in the Cup and had a game against JNJ Croatia to look forward to which would decide the Group A title. Team Zug could still qualify for the Cup if they could win their last game and if this would merit one of the best two third placed finishes.
