Group C was really hotting up as we entered Round 4. Match 10 of the group was an all-English encounter between DHFC and 9 Nana Budds. The two teams occupied the mid-table positions coming into Round 4 so this would be a real crossroads for the teams' destinies at the 2015 Berlin Fives. A win here and they would be challenging for the Cup places, a defeat would no doubt mean challenging for the Plate places. A draw would almost certainly leave them Plate-bound.

9 Nana Budds had drawn 2 of their 3 group games so far and we've often seen too many draws be almost as damaging to a team's progress as defeats if they have too many of them. Just last week at the 2015 Mallorca Tournament Stanford FC drew 4 out of 5 group games and dropped into the Plate despite being a good side (they'd finished 2 nd in a Barcelona group before). They just couldn't get over the winning line – would the same fate befall 9 Nana Budds?

At half-time they were certainly on track to do so as they were 0-0 at the break. Could either team find a winner in the second half? They could and it was DHFC (or Dry Hump Phoenix FC to give them their full name) who struck the winning blow. Ben Charles-William was the hero of the moment as his goal earned his team their first eurofootballfives.com victory. They joined Titanium Hollyrollers on 4 points in third position – if they could win their last game they had a good chance of reaching the Cup.

For 9 Nana Budds the chances of the Cup were pretty much over – even if they finished third a maximum potential haul of 5 points was unlikely to see them through as one of the two best third placed finishers.

SV Zoo would take on the challenge of Pink Flamingos B in the next Group C fixture. If they could win their final two games SV Zoo had an outside shot of making the Cup for the second eurofootballfives.com tournament this year – it was a tough ask though.

Pink Flamingos B were currently sat in 2nd position but a win here would see them go top subject to how Missing Magpies would fare on Pitch C against the Titanium Hollyrollers. This game and that would be played simultaneously. Having drawn a blank in Round 3, Pink Flamingos B were quickly off the mark in Round 4 as they quickly established a 2-0 lead by half-time. The goals came from James Rivers and Patrick Surlis – both opening their personal accounts for the day.

After the break Jan Neubert scored SV Zoo's second goal of their own for the tournament – a regular goalscorer in eurofootballfives.com tournaments but his first today. The goal didn't make too many inroads into the Pink Flamingos B lead as the English team ran out 3-1 victors. Tom Gilbert also bagging his first goal of the tournament for the men in pink.

Would the win put Pink Flamingos B back on top? All eyes switched to Pitch D….

On Pitch D we had The Titanium Hollyrollers versus Missing Magpies in a game that would go a long way to deciding who would be Group C champions. If Missing Magpies could claim victory they would be in pole position and would also secure Cup qualification in the process. A draw would make it a 2-way tie at the top but a win for the Titanium Hollyrollers would see them just 3 points off the top and they were in with a shout like a thoroughbred coming up on the rails going into the final straight.

The Titanium Hollyrollers were certainly kicking on going for the back straight as they forged ahead through Allard Van Der Mende. They went 2-0 up before half-time with Niels De Groot scoring for the third game running. Given their form today it must have been a shock to the system for the Missing Magpies – could they respond?

They could. Max Orbach reduced the deficit to 2-1 and Missing Magpies were on the road to recovery. If they could rescue a point that would certainly be 1 point gained rather than 2 lost but the Titanium Hollyrollers had enough in the tank to keep their English opponents at bay.

The Titanium Hollyrollers took the win and it meant the top 3 were now only separated by 3 points. It was getting interesting.
