Hurting Berlin didn't need much help today in collecting three points but they were handed another at this stage. The start of Round 4 was due to be their game against Scandittack FC so we add the 3-0 walkover to the league table and will move quickly on to the next action on the pitch….

Next up was the biggest game of Group B so far as Tinniedad and Tobacco would face Rayford Athletic. A win for Tinniedad & Tobacco would book their place in the Cup competition and also put them in pole position for the Group B win. At the start of Round 4, Rayford Athletic sat three points behind the two teams above them – they could make it a three-way tie at the top with a win of their own.

We reached half-time all level at 1-1 thanks to goals from Mike Wilkes (Tinniedad & Tobacco) and Andrew Key (Rayford Athletic). A draw wouldn't be the worst result in the world for either team as 10 points would see Tinniedad & Tobacco through to the Cup. It would also move Rayford Athletic on to 7 points and with a game to go they would also have Cup qualification very much in their own hands.

As the sands of time ran away in the second period we were to get no further goals and we finished at 1-1. It was a decent point for both teams although clearly they'd have wanted all 3. The main beneficiaries were Hurting Berlin who now had a 2 point lead at the top going into the final run of games.

Fail Madrid and Southgate County came into Game 12 of Group B in fourth and fifth positions. These teams really needed the points to close the gap on the teams above them. Southgate County although 3 points better off at this stage arguably needed the points more. They could still finish in 3 rd place with a win (and another in the final group game) and qualify for the Cup as one of the two best third placed teams. Fail Madrid could finish 4th at best and knew they would be in the Plate regardless of results – however, they would want to get a run and a bit of momentum behind them going into the knockout phase.

At half-time the teams could not be divided as they were deadlocked at 1-1. Graham Hargreaves scored his second of the tournament for Fail Madrid and there was a first goal of the day for Damien O'Brien. If it remained this way at full-time the point would not be of much use for Fail Madrid. It could be crucial for Southgate County though – a draw here and win in the final game against Rayford Athletic could see them go above Rayford Athletic on goal difference, finish 3rd and make the Cup (if results in other groups also went their way).

It was therefore important for Southgate County not to lose but to advance their claim best they really needed a win – stick or twist? As it turned out they won the game 3-2 thanks to a double strike from Simon Hicks after the break. Captain James Boshier's goal was a consolation and Fail Madrid can consider themselves unlucky to still be pointless at this stage.
