Next
up was the biggest game of Group B so far as
Tinniedad and Tobacco would face Rayford Athletic.
A win for Tinniedad & Tobacco would book
their place in the Cup competition and also
put them in pole position for the Group B win.
At the start of Round 4, Rayford Athletic sat
three points behind the two teams above them
– they could make it a three-way tie at the
top with a win of their own.
We
reached half-time all level at 1-1 thanks to
goals from Mike Wilkes (Tinniedad & Tobacco)
and Andrew Key (Rayford Athletic). A draw wouldn't
be the worst result in the world for either
team as 10 points would see Tinniedad &
Tobacco through to the Cup. It would also move
Rayford Athletic on to 7 points and with a game
to go they would also have Cup qualification
very much in their own hands.
As
the sands of time ran away in the second period
we were to get no further goals and we finished
at 1-1. It was a decent point for both teams
although clearly they'd have wanted all 3. The
main beneficiaries were Hurting Berlin who now
had a 2 point lead at the top going into the
final run of games.
