Game
2 of Group A was FC Auslander versus Tommie's
Guns.
FC
Auslander made their debut at the 2014 Berlin
Fives and 12 months ago they struggled. Group
D did not make pretty reading as they lost all
4 games albeit a few of them by narrow margins
(2-1, 3-2 and 3-1) – only in one game did they
really face heavy defeat and that was against
the eventual Runners-Up. It meant they contested
the Wooden Spoon playoff in what was arguably
the game of the tournament from a spectator's
point of view. A thrilling game was drawn 3-3
before they eventually lost 4-3 on Golden Goal.
Captain Kevin O'Shea was missing through injury
back then, he vowed to bring a stronger squad
in 2015 and so it looked to be on the early
evidence of today.
Tommie's
Guns were also in action for a second time in
eurofootballfives.com action (more on them anon)
and they suffered a pre-tournament set-back
as they were missing their own captain today
(Joe Latimer being injured in last weekend's
Mallorca Tournament). They also suffered a set-back
with the tournament underway as goals from Christoph
Darbouze and Luke Porter for FC Auslander outgunned
(excuse the poor pun) Alex Meecham's goal for
Tommie's Guns. Full-time, 2-1.
