That
game in hand for Pink Flamingos A was the next
game on Pitch A as they took on FC Auslander.
Pink Flamingos A could open up a 3 point lead
at the top of the table with victory and based
on their previous result would be hot favourites
to do so.
FC
Auslander had just tasted their first defeat
in Round 3 and, as Coole Wampe had done, would
hope to emulate Coole Wampe by bouncing back
with victory straight away. This was going to
be a tough ask against a formidable Pink Flamingos
A side. However, it was a task that FC Auslander
took to admirably and they gave as good as they
got for much of the first half. That said, they
were unable to prevent Pink Flamingos A taking
a lead into half-time as Karl Gumbrell fired
in his sixth goal of the day to give his team
a 1-0 advantage.
After
the break Pink Flamingos A added to their goal
tally firstly through Lewis Westlake and then
through Karl Gumbrell's 7 th of the tournament
– an early contender for the top goalscorer
award. Pink Flamingos A did not have it all
their own way though as Christoph Darbouze scored
his third in four games as the game finished
3-1.
Pink
Flamingos A were back at the top of Group A.
