Southgate County came into Round 2 having had a difficult baptism in our events losing 3-0 to Tinnidad & Tobacco. In contrast, Hurting Berlin had started really well as they collected all three points in a 2-0 win over Fail Madrid.

Hurting Berlin continued their good form this morning by forging an early 2-0 lead as Emmet Egan struck the first blow before Shane Murphy made it two in two games for him.

Hurting Berlin continued their free-scoring form after the turnaround as Lorcan Bannon joined Shane Murphy in making it two goals in two games before Shane Murphy went one better by scoring his third of the day. So far John Fitzpatrick had been unbeaten in goal for the Irish team but that was to change as Neil Spackman scored Southgate County's first goal in eurofootballfives.com competition. Unfortunately for him and his team it was to be a mere consolation in a 4-1 tough defeat.

Southgate County had experienced a tough start to life in the Berlin Fives. Hurting Berlin were firing on all cylinders with a 100% record.

We had to apologise to Rayford Athletic who due to Scandittack FC's cancellation had waited until Round 2 to get their 2015 Berlin Fives campaign off and running on the field of play. They would do so against a Fail Madrid team looking to bounce back from opening game defeat.

In the first half both teams would score their first eurofootballfives.com goals – Graham Hargreaves with the honour for Fail Madrid and Ross Bennett for Rayford Athletic. At half-time the teams were level pegging at 1-1.

The second half would decide the destination of the points. Andrew Key scored what the Americans would call the “go-ahead” goal to make it 2-1 to Rayford Athletic and the points were safe when Andrew Key scored again to make it 3-1.

The victory meant that Rayford Athletic were flying high in the table whilst Fail Madrid were in 4th position.

The game that would have completed Round 2 was Scandittack FC versus Tinniedad & Tobacco but as we have seen the former were unable to attend. We therefore added the 3-0 walkover win to Tinniedad & Tobacco and the league table looked like it does below….
