The
early morning drizzle had subsided and the sun
was out and shining on Pitch A as Pink Flamingos
B took to the field for their second match against
Titanium Hollyrollers. As with the previous
game in Round 2 this was a match between a first
round winner and a team who had drawn their
opening game.
Pink
Flamingos kept up their fine club record in
the tournament by going ahead again through
Mike Williamson – his second in as many games.
At this stage in the two games for the A team
and 1.5 games for the B team they had scored
11 without reply. That was to change in the
second half though as Niels De Groot became
the first man to score against the team in pink
today.
The
goal would not be good enough to earn the Titanium
Hollyrollers the points though as a Ben Northrop
strike ultimately proved to be the decisive
goal. Final score, 2-1.
The
result meant Pink Flamingos B joined Missing
Magpies at the top of Group C and lead the way
courtesy of a superior goal difference.
