Ecuador 100% miss out on historic 4th consecutive title as Team Rock celebrate glory (Open Age)

Aston Birra (Ecu) beat Lucanos Locos (Pol) in the Veterans Final!

Open Age

In the Open Age section all eyes were on Ecuador 100% who were aiming to become the first team to win four consecutive titles at the same event. They were pushed close by Australia's Average Joes in the Quarter-Finals but went out on penalties. They were taken to penalties again by W London in the Semis and this time couldn't repeat the feat. This was the first time they had been eliminated at the Mallorca Fives since September 2018! An amazing result for W London. In the Cup Final though, Team Rock, who had won 7 out of 7, completed the perfect campaign with a 2-0 victory for Spain.

In the Plate section it was Portugal versus England in the Final as RAF took the trophy and winners medals. They defeated The Yol who had competed all day with just 5 players - a great feat to get so close after 8 gruelling games.

Veterans

In the Veterans section, we had teams from China, Ecuador, England,, Poland and Spain (mainland and Mallorca) all assembled to battle it out for the title of 2024 Mallorca Fives Veterans champions.

Although Ecuador 100% had lost their title, their compatriots in the Veterans - Aston Birra - went all the way to success to ensure glory for Ecuador. The South Americans did not find it easy though needing to beat Polish opposition in both the Semi-Finals and Final on penalties. Commiserations to our runners-up Lucanos Locos.

In the Plate tournament there was glory for VTF Elite from Valencia who defeated China's Beijing Rockets in the Plate Final.

A big thank you to all 28 teams for what was a superb weekend. See you all soon.
