Next
up was RAF Fylingdales of England against Average
Joes of Australia.
In
competing at the 2024 Mallorca Fives, Average
Joes became the first team to represent Australia
at our events. It meant that Australia was the
44th nation to be represented at our events.
They follow on from Finland (37th), USA (38th),
Tunisia (39th), Saudi Arabia (40th) Moldova
(41st), Luxembourg (42nd) and China (43rd).
We wish Average Joes and Australia a warm welcome
to our events.
RAF
Fylingdales were experienced in our events with
this being their 6th appearance – we'll preview
them in more detail in due course. It was the
newcomers Average Joes who struck first with
Darcey Den Ouden going down in the record books
as their first player to score in Europe. RAF
Fylingdales were not to be beaten though and
they struck back to level it up at 1-1. Shaun
Miller was the man on target.
The
third goal in the match would prove decisive.
It was Olly Daly who was on target as Average
Joes won the game 2-1. It meant Average Joes
won the first “Ashes” battle in eurofootballfives.com
competition.
