We began Round 4 with W London versus Sheffield Thursday. There was only a point between the two teams in the table but Sheffield Thursday would be favourites as they took 4 points from the first possible 6 and then they almost grabbed a draw against Ecuador 100%. In comparison, W London lost 8-2. So if we use the performances against Ecuador 100% as a yardstick then Sheffield Thursday should win this game.

Football naturally doesn't work like that though and this was a clean slate at kick-off. It was W London who opened the scoring with Toby Cross on target. Sheffield Thursday did hit back through Joe Morris's second goal of the tournament. This was a keenly fought game as both teams searched for the winner. The proof of this was the three yellow cards picked by Joe Morris, Sam Morris and Nathan Thompson as they battled hard.

That ultimately proved all in vain as a Darius Plummer strike was good enough to secure all three points for W London. It was a victory that saw them go joint second in the table.

Ecuador 100% were our runaway leaders in Group A with 3 wins from 3 – 17 goals scored and just 2 conceded. They could secure the group title and Cup qualification with a game to spare if they were to win here.

Deportivo Dooradoyle could join Ecuador 100% at the top on 9 points if they were to win this one. History was against them as Dooradoyle's Alabama Hotpockets team met Ecuador 100% twice in 2022 and they lost 2-0 and 5-0. It was perhaps no surprise to see Ecuador 100% strike first in this one. Ivan Mora put the South Americans 1-0 up before Goxi Gonzalez makde it 2-0. It was Gonzalez's seventh goal of the tournament and he was currently leading the goal-scoring charts. Thereafter it became the Ivan Mora show as he added his second of the game and then completed his hat-trick.

The 4-0 win meant it was 11-0 on aggregate over three games against Deportivo Dooradoyle/Alabama Hotpockets. More importantly for Ecuador 100% they had secured Cup qualification in their pursuit of a fourth successive title.

The only thing left to settle in Round 4 was the not-so-small matter of Wentworth Arms Royals versus The Yol. Due to other results the teams found themselves in 5 th and 6 th position at kick-off but obviously with a game in hand over their rivals. They needed to turn that game in hand into points. Wentworth Arms Royals could move onto 5 points (just a point behind second) whilst The Yol could go joint 2 nd with a victory.

Wentworth Arms Royals competed last year at the 2023 Lisbon Tournament as Bugiels Rovers. They found life pretty tough going in Group A as they finished 7 th in the table with 6 defeats albeit most were by 1-0 or 2-0 except against the RAF squads. You could say similar here with a 1-1 draw and 1-0 defeat (aside from the game against Ecuador 100%). They were competitive but without cutting edge.

The Yol had started all their games brightly taking the lead in all 3 games to date and that trend was set to continue here with Dan Gleeson on target to make it 1-0. The key for The Yol seemed to be the second goal. Score it – they won, concede it – they lost. The good news for them is that Dan Gleeson doubled The Yol's lead for 2-0. Joe Holmes made it 3-0 to equal their biggest win of the day. Cash Radford scored to make it 4-0 which was their biggest win today and their second biggest win in our tournaments. The win put them in second place in the table.

Wentworth Arms Royals were stranded at the foot of the Group A table but Plate qualification was still very much possible.
