After 58 games of football we came down to the most important of them all. Game 59 – The 2024 Mallorca Fives Cup Final. The two teams set to do battle for the honour and glory of victory were W London and Team Rock. For the first time since May 2018 we'd have a Cup Final without Ecuador 100%. The title was up for grabs and this is how we lined-up:

W London (Eng)

Team Rock (Spa)

The stats favoured Team Rock but then again, the stats favoured Ecuador 100% against W London in the Semi-Final and look how that turned out. W London had prevented Ecuador 100% creating history with a fourth successive title but now had a chance to create a little bit of history themselves. They finished third in their group. No team has finished third in their group and gone on to win a eurofootballfives.com title since Rapid Bosco Navas did so at the 2008 Barcelona Fives. W London could be the first team to do so in 16 years and only the second ever! They could also be the first team ever (in 18 years, over 135 tournaments) to potentially win with a negative goal difference over the course of the tournament.

The final kicked off with both teams looking to assert their dominance early. Team Rock relatively fresh from their relatively comfortable semi-final victory against W London. The English team's game finished in normal time at a similar moment but they then had the mental and emotional fatigue of that epic shootout drama to follow.

The Spanish side seized control and showed why they had been unbeaten throughout the day. Chiqui, who had been a standout performer, continued his impressive form. In the first half, he found the back of the net to give Team Rock a crucial lead. His precise finish came after a slick passing move that left the W London defence scrambling. As the second half commenced, W London pushed forward in search of an equalizer. Despite their efforts, they found it difficult to break through a well-organized Team Rock defense that had kept five clean sheets already in the tournament.

Team Rock remained disciplined and composed, and their patience paid off as Chiqui struck again. The goal marked his ninth of the tournament, cementing his status as the top scorer in the competition. W London continued to fight, but Team Rock's defense held firm.

For W London, the final may have ended in disappointment, but their performance in reaching the Cup Final, particularly their semi-final upset, will be remembered as a significant achievement. They should remember the day with pride and take confidence that they can go all the way in these events as they can beat anyone on their day.

Thank you to all the teams who competed. We hope to see you all again at a tournament very soon.

With an unbeaten record and an impressive goal difference, Team Rock proved to be worthy champions. Chiqui's two goals in the final not only secured the title but also highlighted his crucial role in the team's success as Team Rock became the first Spanish team to win since Bar Maruru in September 2018. Huge congratulations to them.
