The start of Round 3 saw the biggest fixture in Group B to date. The top two teams would meet face-to-face. It was the unbeaten Average Joes against the equally unbeaten Wentworth Athletic Arms. Both teams boasted a 100% record thus far but for one of those teams, potentially both, that record would be extinguished at the end of this tie.

There was literally nothing to separate these two teams coming into this match. They had identical goal differences with both scoring 5 goals and both conceding twice. It was Average Joes who struck the early blow in this game with Olly Daly scoring his second goal of the tournament. Neither of these teams had completed a clean sheet yet and that run was to continue with Liam O'Connell keeping up his goal-per-game record to afford Wentworth Arms Athletic an eqaliser.

With the game evenly poised at 1-1 the next goal was likely to be a match winner. Cometh the hour, cometh the man and that man was Stef Antoci. His third strike of the day won the match for Wentworth Arms Athletic, 2-1.

Wentworth Athletic Arms maintained their 100% record as they topped the table with 9 points. Despite the defeat, Average Joes were still well-placed in second position.

CBT FC were next up on Campo B as they took on RAF Fylingdales. These two teams were both looking to get off the mark in terms of points in Group B.

RAF Fylingdales were competing in our Mallorca Fives tournament for the first time having competed at our Barcelona Fives event on 3 occasions plus tours to Riga and Gdansk. Their most recent appearance was at the 2019 edition of the Barcelona Fives tournament. They opened up against the 2012 champions (Black Sheep) and lost 3-0. A narrow 2-1 defeat followed to Paralytic Athletic U23s before a 6-0 loss to Patagonia. They then got their first win on the board with a 1-0 victory over PVDC Eindhoven. They couldn't end the group on a high as Latvia's FK Aliance saw them off 7-2. RAF Fylingdales finished 6 th in the table and qualified for the Trophy knockout phase. A 5-2 defeat to Cranwell saw them exit at the QF stage. However, their best performance to date was Gdansk 2018 when they qualified for the Cup competition and reached the Quarter-Finals.

Today it had been two 2-1 defeats for RAF Fylingdales. In both of those games they had fallen behind but in this match they opened the scoring thanks to captain Andrew Ford. Unfortunately for them, scoring first didn't change their fortunes as they fell to a third successive 2-1 defeat.

From a CBT perspective it was a great turnaround. James Field scored the equaliser before Will Downing put them ahead. They went on to complete the victory which saw them rise to 4th place in the table.

AFC Blue Boys were up next against Corner Bar. Both teams were occupying the mid-table positions at present and this match could decide their trajectory for the rest of the group campaign. Both teams had one win and one defeat to their name. Momentum was often a big factor in these tournaments and Corner Bar had it with them having lost first and then picked up a 4-0 win.

They certainly carried that form into this game as they picked up the biggest win of Group B. From the moment Ben McCall opened the scoring Corner Bar never looked back. Will Denny made it 2-0 before Noah Weeda made it 3-0. Corner Bar were firmly in control and they extended their lead further with goals from Ruben Martinez, Conor Kennedy and David Donnelly. Ben McCall then started what he finished as his second of the game sealed a fantastic 7-0 win.

Corner Bar were up to second in the Group B table and had given their goal difference a huge boost in the process. For AFC Blue Boys it was a bit of a blow but they still had two more games to get their campaign back on track.
