AFC Blue Boys first played at the Mallorca Fives in 2022 with 2 teams. The 2nd team was the stronger team who were drawn in the group of death. They opened up with two draws (2-2 v Lindfield FC A, 1-1 v Bayern Badonde) before claiming two wins: 5-0 v Squirrel Squad FC and 1-0 v 2018 winners Urbansport '22 of Spain. A 0-0 draw in their final game against Las Zacaranas (Fra) ensured an unbeaten group phase and Cup qualification in 2 nd position. The Cup Quarter-Finals saw them meet Alabama Hotpockets (Ire). It was another draw (0-0) before they went out 2-1 on penalties. The AFC Blue Boys 1 team started off well with a 2-1 win over Pinkneys Green FC but 4 defeats in a row despite almost taking points off the eventual champions Ecuador 100% meant they would qualify for the Plate competition. The Plate Quarter-Finals saw them crash out 2-1 to France's Los Froggies Del Patron.

AFC Blue Boys had concentrated their strength into one team today and opened up with a 1-0 win over CBT FC. Average Joes also opened up with victory (2-1) so the winner of this match would be early favourites for Cup qualification. It was the Polish team who struck first with Jaroslaw Kwiatkowski on target.

Average Joes showed in their first game they responded well to conceding and they did so again here. Captain Matt Augello bagged the equaliser before Dom Malizis put them ahead. They had 4 goals today and 4 different scorers – a sign of a strong squad. Darcey Den Oden then scored for the second consecutive game to seal a 3-1 win for the Australian team.

For Game 5 of Group B we had Wentworth Arms Athletic versus RAF Fylingdales. The former would be feeling confident after an opening victory and the chance to go joint top with a 2nd win. The latter were hoping to bounce back from a narrow defeat first time out to Average Joes.

Playing as Bugiels Atheltic, Wentworth Arms had a slow start on debut last year at the 2023 Lisbon Tournament with defeat (1-0) to Amsterdam Six winners. Dolce & Lallana. They drew 2-2 against FC C(h)ampagne of Switzerland. They then met Brazil's two-time winners of the Lisbon Tournament, PFC, and lost 3-0. Lindfield FC who went on to finish runners-up on penalties were next as they lost 3-0 in what was the group of death. They then finished on a high with successive victories against the Netherland's Semen Padang (2-1) and RAF2 of Portugal (2-0). In the Plate Quarter-Finals they defeated Tikki Masala 2-1 to set-up a Semi-Final against Deportivo Dooradoyle which they won, 1-0. The Plate Final was a repeat of their very first game against Dolce & Lallana. Sadly for Bugiels Athletic their opponents did the double over them and ran out 2-1 victors.

With a win already under their belts they could well be aiming for the Cup this time round and they began in confident fashion forging a 2-0 lead. Liam O'Connell scored for the second game in succession and Ben Matthews was also on target. RAF Fylingdales didn't let them have it all their own way as they pulled a goal back through Aaron Brookes.

Time and the Wentworth Arms Athletic defence were ultimately against RAF Fylingdales as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat. Wentworth Arms Athletic joined Average Joes at the summit of Group B.

The game that would complete Round 2 was Corner Bar against CBT FC. Having gone unbeaten in the group phase at last year's tournament, Corner Bar had opened up with a defeat first time out this year. Could they bounce back against CBT FC?

CBT last played in our events at the 2023 Krakow Trophy in what was a 6-a-side event. They lost the opening game to the eventual runners-up, TDFW. They then met the two teams who would go on to contest the Plate Final in Mngball FC and Big Time Krakow where they experienced two narrow defeats (2-0 and 1-0). They secured their first win of the tournament, 2-1, over Cream of the South before running into an RAF (Por) side who needed a win and goal difference to top the group. The Portuguese side won 4-1. CBT FC would finish 5th in their 6-team group and miss out on the knock-out phase.

CBT FC opened up with a narrow 1-0 loss to AFC Blue Boys today but they would find Corner Bar a tougher prospect. Will Denny put Corner Bar ahead and they then had the luxury of a 2-0 lead with a Conor Kennedy strike. The Mallorca-based team went further ahead with Ruben Martinez's second goal of the tournament. Ben McCall put the icing on a 4-0 cake with the final goal of the game.
