Round 2 started with Pinkneys Green FC versus Alabama Hotpockets. Pinkneys Green FC had looked good for much of their opening encounter but a couple of relatively late goals saw them slip to a narrow defeat. Time was on their side though if they could bounce back quickly in this fixture.

Alabama Hotpockets had got off to a flyer against Sunrisers Madrid as they produced three goals and a clean sheet to top the table although it was early days. However, another win here would maintain at least a share of the lead going into round 3. After the early exchanges it was Alabama Hotpockets who poked their noses in front with Patrick O'Brien scoring for the second game in a row. A goal that would earn his team a 1-0 lead at half-time.

Patrick O'Brien finished top scorer with 15 goals at the 2018 Gdansk tournament and in the second half he notched his third of the day to double the lead for the Hotpockets. Darragh Enright then kept up his record of a goal per game when he made it 3-0 to the Irish side. There was a second clean sheet for Paddy Londole and his defence as the Hotpockets were setting the pace in Group B.

Lindfield FC B were up next as they took on Sunrisers Madrid in an all-England contest. Both teams had suffered opening game defeats but now had the chance to get their first goals and first points on the board to kickstart their campaigns.

It was Lindfield FC B who opened the scoring with Mark Darbyshire opening his team's account. 1-0 became 2-0 thanks to Jon Cunningham and all was looking good for Lindfield FC B. Sunrisers Madrid had other ideas though as they reduced the deficit to 2-1. Dom Toner the man with the honour of scoring their first goal in European competition.

There was to be no further addition to the score as Llindfield FC B ran out 2-1 victors to put their first 3 points on the board.

To complete Round 2 we had Ecuador 100% versus AFC Blue Boys 1. Both teams had enjoyed success in Round 1 and if they could repeat that form in Round 2 they would join Alabama Hotpockets at the summit of Group B.

For anyone lucky enough to watch this game it was an absolute cracker. Ecuador 100% did much of the early running and they got reward for their efforts with a goal from Bryan. Ecuador 100% continued in search of a second goal but the Polish team defended well and looked dangerous on the break. Eventually AFC Blue Boys 1 got their reward in the second half as Norbert Szumski levelled the game at 1-1. The team were pumped up and looking good for points.

However, not long after, Sebastian Maly made a great diving save on the goal-line for AFC Blue Boys. The problem was, he was a defender and not the goalkeeper so a penalty was awarded to Ecuador 100%. Jose stepped up to put his team back ahead but the Polish goalkeeper, Daniel Kopec, made a stunning save. It looked like that save would secure a draw for his team.

Jose had other ideas though as he hit a stunning powerful shot from distance that rifled into the back of the net and win the game late on for Ecuador 100%. It was a great performance from AFC Blue Boys 1 but the points went to Ecuador.
