At the start of Round 3, we had Bayern Badonde versus Urbansport '22. Bayern Badonde had just got their first point on the board and now had a platform to go searching for that first win. It would be a tough ask against Urbansport '22 who had a 100% record so far with 9 goals scored and yet to concede.

The Spanish would certainly start the game as favourites but with the action on the pitch unfolding it was clear that this would be their most difficult game so far. Bayern Badonde were carrying the fight to their opposition and got their just rewards as Paris Grappy secured his team a first half lead.

The second half kicked off with Bayern Badonde protecting a 1-0 lead but it was to get even better for them as George Rod kept up his goal-per-game record. His third of the day doubled their advantage. Johiner Vasquez reduced the deficit to 2-1 but Bayern Badonde had enough in the tank to see the game out. It was a fantastic result for Bayern Badonde and with 4 points from a possible 6 (including a win against the league leaders) they were up and running.

Next up we had AFC Blue Boys 2 versus Squirrel Squad FC. At the start of Round 3 these teams were 4th and 6th place in the table respectively and both needed the points, for different reasons, to help propel them up Group A. AFC Blue Boys 2 had a 100% draw record as they hunted a first win. Squirrel Squad FC had a 100% loss record as they chased their first points.

It was AFC Blue Boys 2 who struck first with a goal from Artur Sukiennik. Squirrel Squad FC should not despair though. AFC Blue Boys 2 had taken the lead 3 times in this tournament and been pegged back on each occasion. If Squirrel Squad FC could claim the next goal the pressure would grow in AFC Blue Boys 2.

As it turned out, it was Marcin Zaluga of AFC Old Boys 2 who scored next. His third goal in as many games ensured they would have a 2-0 lead going into half-time. For the first time today the Polish team had a 2 goal cushion . They set about extending this lead to take the draw out of the question and take the game away from their opponents.

Jakub Kociemski, Artur Sukiennik and Michal Cedrowski goals in the second half meant AFC Blue Boys 2 ran out 5-0 victors. They climbed from fourth to second in the Group A standings.

It was second versus third in Game 9 of Group A as Lindfield FC A and Las Zacaranas would meet face-to-face. With Urbansport '22's defeat the group had really opened up and there was chance for each of these teams to claim top spot in Group A. A win for Lindfield FC would put them a point clear. A win for Las Zacaranas and they would join the Spanish on 6 points.

There was quite a carrot for both teams going into this game and it appeared Lindfield FC A would be the team to take advantage. Jamie Wilkes scored his first goal of the day and what an important goal it could prove to be. At this stage, Lindfield FC A were heading to the top and they maintained their lead until the half-time whistle.

What could Las Zacaranas produce in the second half? They produced a fightback and an equalizing goal from Bruno Peres. The goal would be enough to earn his team a point. The draw was the result that arguably benefitted Urbansport '22 rather than these two teams as it kept the Spanish in first position.

For Lindfield FC A and Las Zacaranas, only time would tell if this was a point gained or two points dropped.
