With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle in to the tournament.

Bayern Badonde would take to the field against AFC Blue Boys. The latter made their debut at our most recent tournament, the 2021 Barcelona Fives. They had a tough start against the 2015 Barcelona champions Club Esportiu Llefia and suffered a 5-1 defeat. They bounced back with a 2-2 draw against Sharks (Spa) to get their first points on the board. In the next game against Son Les Onze (Spa) they slipped to a 2-0 defeat. They finished the group phase on a high as they defeated England's FC Dad 2-0 to claim third place in the group and progress to the Plate. They made it 2 wins out of 2 with a stunning win over 2018 Amsterdam Fives champions, Epsilon Rovers. It was not only a win but a comprehensive 3-0 victory. In the Plate Final they met FC Maroon and although they fell behind they recovered to draw 1-1 and take the game to penalties. Sadly for them, they missed out on glory though as they lost 2-1 on spot kicks.

Today, they had opened up with a 2-2 draw and were looking to get a first win on the board. It started well with Marcin Zaluga scoring for the second game in a row. There was hope for Bayern Badonde though as the Polish had twice lead before being pegged back in their opening game. The same fate was to befall them here. George Rod, also scoring for the second game in a row, equalized for Bayern Badonde.

There was to be no addition to the score in the second half. It was a first point on the board for Bayern Badonde whilst AFC Blue Boys 2 had to settle for another draw.

Next up on Pitch A was Urbansport ‘22 versus Las Zacaranas .

Urbansport '22 were looking to make it 3 Cup Finals in a row. Last time out in 2019, the 2018 champions title defence started well with an unbeaten group campaign that saw them pick up 4 wins and 2 draws. They had the largest goal difference of the tournament with 18 goals scored and just 4 conceded. In the Cup quarter-final they defeated France's Mamamuu 1-0 before seeing off Deddington Sea Men 3-1 in the semi-finals. They set up a repeat of the 2018 final against Ecuador 100% but the Ecuadorians had their revenge as the Bar Maruru title defence ended in a 6-0 defeat.

The Spanish had begun the day in ominous form with a 5-1 victory. However, Las Zacaranas had also started well with a 4-1 win so this might prove to be a tough test. It didn't take them long to get in their stride here though as first half goals from Tiago Gomez and Luis Perdouno put them in command.

2-0 was not a safe score though and if the French could bag the next goal then it was came on. It was not to be as Luis Perdouno gave his team breathing space with his second of the game to help complete a 3-0 win for his team.

To complete Round 2 we had Squirrel Squad FC versus Lindfield FC A. The former were looking to get on track after a tough opening fixture. Lindfield FC A had started with a solid draw and were looking to build on that to march up the table.

Lindfield FC (Eng) first appeared in our tournaments at the 2019 Algarve Open. They slipped to an opening game defeat (2-0) to Parkwood A but quickly bounced back with a 2-0 win over Show Me Da Mane. They made it 2 wins out of 2 as they saw off Belgium's Trinacria, 3-1. They then had two defeats against Portuguese opposition – 2-0 to Hellgarve's Kraken and 2-1 to Red Star. They finished third of six teams and qualified for the Plate competition. They met Southgate County 1s in the QF and suffered another narrow defeat (2-1) to exit the tournament.

Here in Mallorca they were looking in fine form and Stuart Brown in particular was enjoying a fast start to his campaign. With a brace in the first game he now added a third of the tournament to put his team 1-0 up. An Andy Brown goal gave Lindfield FC a cushion at half-time, 2-0.

After the break the points were secured when Ruari Farrell opened his personal account for the day to make it 3-0. The victory saw Lindfield FC climb from fourth to second position in the league standings.
