So,
who would take their place in the Final from
the second Semi-Final? The two teams set to
do battle were Ecuador 100% against Alabama
Hotpockets?
The
Alabama Hotpockets were looking to reach their
first Cup Final since the 2015 Barcelona Fives.
Back then they won Group C with 10 points. In
the Cup, they defeated Freshers FC (2-1) and
then drew with Elcombe Old Boys 1-1. They won
3-2 on penalties against the 2016 Barcelona
champions. The Alabama Hotpockets just ran out
of steam against Club Esportiu Llefia when they
went down 5-0 in the Cup Final.
They
reached this stage today with 10 points in Group
C again but finished behind Ecuador 100% and
when they met earlier today the Ecuador team
emerged victorious, 2-0. The Alabama Hotpockets
would have a tough task on their hands trying
to prevent their opponents reaching a third
successive final but they acquitted themselves
well in the first half. As well as they played
they could not prevent trailing at the break.
Jose was the man with the goal to separate the
two teams.
Ecuador
100% had only conceded two goals all day so
Alabama Hotpockets would have to be at their
best going forward without falling further behind
at the back. No mean feat and a task that was
ultimately beyond them. When Jose scored a second
the writing was on the wall. He went on to complete
a hat-trick before Jhon put a couple of nails
in the coffin.
The
tournament was over for Alabama Hotpockets but
they had been superb – they obviously came to
win the title but it was not to be.
