The last round of fixtures threw up some intriguing ties and we began with Csabagyongye and Breckland FC. A win for either would virtually guarantee qualification to the Plate. Defeat would mean missing out and elimination from the tournament. In the event of a draw, Breckland FC would be eliminated on goal difference. For Csabagyongye it would probably be enough as long as FC Dad did not beat Funsports A.

With those scenarios in mind we kicked off and despite Breckland FC's upturn in form they fell behind to goals from Balint Fabok and Levente Asztalos. The Hungarians looked on their way to the Plate but Breckland FC would not give up.

Daniel Tickle reduced the defecit to 2-1 and it was game on. Balint Fabok restored the two goal advantage at 3-1. Tickle again, with his 8 th goal of the tournament, reduced the deficit to 3-2 but Csabagyongye had done enough – final score, 3-2.

Csabagyongye were pretty much through to the Plate but we had to say farewell to Breckland FC – their upturn in form came a little too late but in their last few games they certainly did themselves proud.

Of all the team's looking for Plate qualification FC Dad had the toughest task as they met Funsport A. With Csabagyongye's victory, FC Dad had to win this game and goal difference could well be crucial between Csabagyongye, FC Dad and Lads of Lisboa for the 2 Plate competition qualification places.

Funsport A had just one goal – victory – and with it the Group A title. FC Dad played pretty well in the opening period but were unable to prevent themselves going in 1-0 down at the break.

As the game went on in the second half Funsport A's undoubted class told and they extended their lead to 2-0 and then 3-0. With every goal there was a nail in the coffin of FC Dad's qualification hopes. Sadly we had to say farewell to them at this stage. FC Dad will look to two narrow defeats (2-1 and 1-0) rather than this game as crucial factors. On another day they'd have taken points from those games and progressed.

Our congratulations though went to Funsport A who sealed the Group A title (bar the exception of a miraculous victory for Futsal Pioes).

That miraculous victory mentioned above would need to come from Futsal Pioes who would need to win by 14 goals to top the table. Highly unlikely and certainly if you were Lads of Lisboa a result you would not want to see!

The two teams went into this game with relative freedom – Futsal Pioes knew they would be effectively finishing 2nd and had qualified for the Cup. Lads of Lisboa now knew that their place in the Plate was assured. They needed just a point to secure 3rd place. We say ‘just' but acknowledge the skills of their opposition.

It was the away team who struck first through Anthony Allder's 5th goal of the competition and was a lead the English team would hold until the break. There had been one stand out player for Futsal Pioes – Malakias Ramos – who with his 10th goal of the day equalized for Futsal Pioes. That man Ramos again made it 2-1 to Futsal Pioes. With 11 goals in the group stages he was one of the leading contenders for the Top Goalscorer award. He'd scored 11 of his teams 13 goals and the two in this game ensured victory.

The result meant Lads of Lisboa slipped from 3rd to 4th on goal difference – but they were through to the Plate competition anyway. Congratulations to both teams.
