Last but not least, we turned our attentions to Group D where the group began with Black Sheep versus Rain Dragons.

Black Sheep (Spa) first appeared in June 2009 at the Barcelona Fives where they finished second in their group to qualify for the Cup Quarter-Finals. At this stage they said farewell losing a penalty shoot-out to the eventual winners, Anglo Knights. Their second appearance was at the 2011 Barcelona Fives where they won Group C with 4 wins out of 4. They progressed through the Cup QF this time but went out again on penalties – this time to Rapid Bosco Navas.

1 year later in 2012 they were winning Group D with 3 wins and 1 draw from their 4 games. They successfully negotiated the QF (v Banter Bus, Eng), the SF (v Budapest Celtic Pumas, Hun) and then won the final 1-0 versus Ireland's Saipan FC. Since then they have not been able to join us due to fixture clashes with their domestic league. They do make a welcome return in 2018 though with a much changed squad.

This squad appeared to be as strong as previous ones as they earned a 3-0 win thanks to 2 goals from Jakos Noorgaard and a strike from Daniel Wright.

Match 2 in Group D saw Los Portugalitos (Por) versus AC Mazi 1996 (Gre).

Los Portugalitos had already played in our tournaments this year back in May. They competed at the 2018 Algarve Open as FC Gymnasium. From their 7 group games they won 3, drew 2 and lost 2. They finished on 11 points and in third place which meant Cup qualification. They then encountered 3x eurofootballfives.com winners, L'Albiceleste of France. They were defeated 3-0.

This match proved to be a very high quality game and a very keenly contested game. It was the Greek team that had that bit of extra quality with goals from Thanasaj Laerto and Mario Ntatis.

Wonder Vision were back in eurofootballfives.com competition for a fifth time. They competed previously as Warranty Direct and debuted at the 2010 Barcelona Fives where a third placed finish in the group was followed by winning the Plate competition. They defeated Sesimbassa in the Plate Final to lift the trophy. They then played in the 2010 Valencia Fives where they were unfortunate to draw the group of death which featured 3 of the 4 finalists in Cup and Plate competition. A return to Barcelona in 2011 saw another 3rd placed group finish and qualification for the Plate again as they looked to defend their title. A 3-1 defeat to Preston Youth ended their hopes in the Quarter-Finals.

After a brief hiatus they returned to Barcelona Fives action for another crack at glory in 2017. They opened up with a 0-0 draw against defending champions Elcombe Old Boys and in their third game drew 1-1 with a very good Danish Dynamites team. Results sadly tailed off until they defeated the 2015 champions (Club Esportiu Llefia, 3-0) in the final group game. It seems they reserved their best performances for the best teams. They finished 6th to qualify for the Trophy but went out at the Quarter-Final stage to Ze'Argon (Fra), 1-0.

Wonder Vision would begin their 2018 campaign against New Wave Funk who were on debut. It was an impressive debut for New Wave Funk who made a great impact at the start of Group D. Nick Moore in particular had a good start as he bagged a hat-trick. There was also a goal for Alex Jones as New Wave Funk wrapped up a 4-0 win.
