Jackson's Five (Eng)

The second final of the day would see CTMB Pumas versus Jackson's Five. With six/seven games of football already under their belt the two teams would need to summon one last burst of energy to ensure they would be picking up winners and not runners-up medals in the presentation.

Let us have a look at the two teams' records today:

CTMB Pumas

Played 6, Won 4, Drawn 0, Lost 2

Goal difference: +15 (24-9)

Top Scorer: Tom Farrar (10)

Form: 4 consecutive wins.

Previous finals: n/a

Jackson's Five

Played 7, Won 1, Drawn 4, Lost 2

Goal difference: -1 (14-15)

Top Scorer: Mauro Hernandez (6)

Form: 4 consecutive draws

Previous finals: n/a

A look at the stats suggested that CTMB Pumas might be favourites – more wins, more goals and less conceded. They were also on a sensational run of form with 4 wins in a row which has seen them score 23 goals in 4 games. Jackson's Five form had been less spectacular but 4 draws in a row suggested they would be hard to beat.

With the match underway it was CTMB Pumas who struck first and struck early. Their top scorer Tom Farrar scored his 11th and 12th goals of the tournament to give his side a 2-0 lead. Joe Blackburn then added a third and it was 3-0 to CTMB Pumas at half-time.

Our assertion that Jackson's Five might be hard to beat looked a little wide of the mark. Maybe it was just the one game too far for Jackson's Five today as CTMB Pumas really put them to the sword in the second half.

The goals continued to flow with Tom Farrar scoring his third successive hat-trick. It wouldn't be the only hat-trick though as Joe Blackburn scored twice more to make it 6-0 and complete a hat-trick of his own. Goalkeeper Alex Roberts came out on pitch and made it 7-0 before Ed Goggs scored his fourth of the day. CTMB Pumas were not yet done, Tom Coulter added a late brace to take his tally to the tournament to 9 goals.

Thankfully for Jackson's Five, there was to be no further score and CTMB Pumas had pulled off a superb victory. We offer our consolations to Jackson's Five on a fine campaign overall and it's never nice to be on the wrong end of such a scoreline after a great effort over the course of the full day.

There can be no doubt the best team won. We offer huge congratulations to our 2018 Barcelona Fives Plate winners – CTMB Pumas. Cup victory next time?
