The
second Plate Semi-Final would see Water Boy
take on Let Us Win or Elsie. After their Quarter-Final
win maybe the luck was changing for Let Us Win
or Elsie – they'd bagged a last minute equalizer
in their final group game, they'd benefitted
from an own goal in the Quarter-Final and their
form was changing.
The
momentum was with them and Matt Horne scored
his third goal of the tournament to give the
English team a 1-0 lead. The pressure was on
Water Boy and could they get back into it? They
could and found an equalizer before half-time
to make it 1-1. Pedro Vilhena scored his second
goal in as many games to bring them level.
The
next goal in this match proved to be the winning
goal and it was Nuno Primo of Water Boy who
scored it. Water Boy had doubled their tournament
goals tally in one game and maybe, for them,
they were hitting form at just the right time.
We
had to say goodbye to Let Us Win or Elsie but
we congratulate them on a fine Algarve performance
and fighting lady luck as well as their opposition.
Until next time….
