Round 5 began with Holland versus Portugal as United Colours of Benetton met Water Boy. The best the two teams could finish was 4th place and whilst Water Boy were guaranteed a place in the Plate, the Dutch team needed a point to fend off Norton Old Boys who could still potentially overtake them.

The winning team would take 4th place but a winner didn't look in sight as the teams reached half-time at 0-0. It was looking good for United Colours of Benetton at this stage to rubber stamp their place in the Plate but they had fallen foul of late goals earlier in the campaign so they would take nothing for granted.

The teams had incentive to finish in 4th place as, in theory, this would help them secure an easier Plate Quarter-Final tie so this was far from a dead tie. Ultimately though neither team could find a winner and the points were shared, 0-0.

The result meant that Water Boy finished 4th and United Colours of Benetton finished 5th. It also meant that Norton Hill Old Boys could do no better than 6th.

As we'd seen above, Norton Hill Old Boys could finish no higher than 6 th in this group but there hopes of Plate qualification were not entirely over. They could still potentially be the best 6 th placed team. We had already seen Hangover 96 in Group A register a point so Norton Hill Old Boys would need to at least match that (they had the better goal difference) and wait for the results of Group C. It would not be easy though against a strong Galacticos team and a strong Galacticos team needing points themselves.

Galacticos' own position was very precarious. Here was there situation;

Win: If they won they would move onto 12 points and guarantee Cup qualification and could win Group B if Ecclesfield Eagles failed to win.

Draw: 10 points would probably be enough for the Cup but they could potentially finish 3rd so nothing was guaranteed.

Lose: Would be enough to qualify if FC Hollywood also lost. If FC Hollywood also gained a point then it would mean 3rd position and them sweating on the final results in Group A and C.

Galacticos quickly made the draw/loss look unlikely scenarios as they forged a 2-0 lead with Marcus Foley opening the scoring and Zuber Bulbulia scoring his second of the tournament. It looked all over for Norton Hill Old Boys and it certainly was when Marcus Foley made it 3-0. Galacticos had secured Cup qualification and could now sit back, relax and watch Ecclesfield Eagles and FC Hollywood slug it out.

For Norton Hill Old Boys this was the first time they'd been defeated by more than the odd goal and they would certainly be contesting the Wooden Spoon this afternoon.

Into Game 15 of Group B and there was still much to decide. Ecclesfield Eagles could win Group B if they took victory here but equally could miss out on Cup football altogether with defeat if results went against them in Groups A and C. They would then finish third and it could well be down to goal difference. A draw would see them finish 2nd and leave FC Hollywood to sweat on results from Groups A and C.

FC Hollywood knew that a win would see them safely through to the Cup and likely to finish 2 nd behind Galacticos on goal difference. It was still mathematically possible to win Group B but a 7 goal win was unlikely against an Ecclesfield Eagles team who had only conceded 2 goals all day and none since the first game of the day.

We reached half-time at 0-0 and Ecclesfield Eagles were the happier of the two teams. A draw would suit them but a win would be better for the prestige of Group B champions and hopefully an easier Quarter-Final. FC Hollywood's fate at this stage was still very uncertain. For them it was a case of stick or twist – if they went for it they could win and guarantee a Cup place but a draw could be enough and they didn't want to risk losing the game by trying to win it. They were in a tough position.

As it turned out the game finished 0-0. The result meant Galacticos took the Group B title (well done to them) and Ecclesfield Eagles qualified in 2nd place. What happened to FC Hollywood? They finished in third with a points total of 10 which was enough due to results elsewhere.
