Norton Old Boys and United Colours of Benetton kicked off Round 4. Both teams were looking to claim their first points of the day in what was proving to be a very tough group. The two teams could well have been on the scoreboard already on another day as both teams had led in games and, with the exception of the Dutch team's first game, each of their defeats had been by the odd goal.

Both teams had proved they could compete but were lacking the finishing touch to be able to put games to bed. It was perhaps no surprise we were level at the break. The game would not end goal-less though and in the end just the one goal would win it – quelle surprise!

Cometh the hour, cometh the man and that man was Ruud Van Den Nieuwenhof for United Colours of Benetton. His goal bagged the points for the Dutch team and Norton Hill Old Boys were edged out of it by the odd goal for the fourth game in a row.

We mentioned in Round 3 that Water Boy had never failed to reach the Cup competition. With a return of 3 points they had to win their last two games and even then 9 points may not be enough depending upon results elsewhere. First things first though and they had to win this one – not going to be easy against Ecclesfield Eagles though.

The English team were on a great run of 3 successive wins and a fourth would seal their own Cup qualification and put them in the box seat for the Group B title. He match was to prove a very evenly matched contest and both defences were on top as we finished level at 0-0.

It was the first dropped points of the day for Ecclesfield Eagles who moved into first place on 10 points on their own but they were now vulnerable to being overtaken if FC Hollywood could take advantage.

For Water Boy it was a well-earned draw but in the context of Group B it was not enough. They remained in 4th place for now with the Plate looming for them.

With Ecclesfield Eagles only drawing there was an opportunity for FC Hollywood to open a 2 point gap at the top if they could maintain their own 100% record. It would not be easy though against a Galacticos team back on the winning trail.

It was Galacticos who opened the scoring through Atiq Akhtar's third goal of the day. It was the third game in a row that FC Hollywood had fallen behind. On the previous two occasions they'd recovered to win. Galacticos were a different proposition though and made it 2-0 through Marcus Foley. That was how the first half ended.

FC Hollywood's previous comebacks had been from 1-0 down but 2-0 down was a different kettle of fish. It looked a difficult task but 3-0 looked impossible and that's what the score became when Yaaseen Patel scored his third of the day.

FC Hollywood did get on the scoresheet at the death through Roberto Monetti to make it 3-1 but there were muted celebrations as they knew it was too late to get anything from the game.

Ecclesfield Eagles retained top spot but FC Hollywood and Galacticos were both in striking distance just a point behind.
