The United Colours of Benetton were the second Dutch team to make the journey to the Algarve and participate in the Algarve Open. They had a lot to live up to as the last team, Athletico Do Hollande, won the 2010 and 2011 tournaments.

They started slowly against Galacticos but looked much better in the second half. They began this game more brightly and took the lead through Gabriel Trepte. The lead was to last until half-time.

FC Hollywood won their first game but a second win was looking a way off at this stage. Mid-way through the second half and the Dutch were still ahead 1-0. Terry Lowe's second goal of the tournament made it 1-1 and with time running out Roberto Monetti bagged a winner to turn this game around. Final score, 2-1.

It was a great comeback and superb win for FC Hollywood. It was hard luck on United Colours of Benetton who had looked so good for so long in this game.

The game that would complete Round 2 was Norton Old Boys against Water Boy. Both teams were looking for their first points of the day and Water Boy were also looking for their first goal. There was a great early move from the Portuguese criss crossing across the pitch and they looked certain to take the lead until Goncalves hit the post from close range when it looked easier to score.

Water Boy's wait for a goal continued but they kept it tight at the back and the two teams reached half-time at 0-0. The Portuguese wait for a goal would come to an end in the second half as Joao Mendonca opened his team's account. He scored 4 goals last year and was on his way in 2012.

It proved to be the only goal of the game as they moved up until 4th place. Norton Hill Old Boys remained in 5th position.
