Round 3 started with Moles Salah A versus Foot 130 B. If you've read the Group A section of the report you will have seen Foot 130 swept to victory at the 2023 Amsterdam Fives. They also entered the 2023 Amsterdam Sevens on the same day. In the Sevens tournament they completed a 4-0 win over Cheesecake FC and 5-0 win over Bullets FC in an excellent start. More modest wins followed over Abington Stanley (1-0) and El Cholo (2-1). They set-up a group decided against Denmark's Uden Filter who also boasted a 100% record but it was the Danes who secured a narrow 1-0 win. This result may have been crucial as it meant Foot 130 had to face the defending champions, Humble Goats, in the Cup Semi-Finals. The Humble Goats edged through 2-1 as Foot 130 would miss out on a potential historic Fives & Sevens double.

Currently Foot 130 A were unbeaten in Group A and Foot 130 B were unbeaten in Group B as they challenged on two fronts for this title. Moles Salah A were currently on 1 point from a possible 6 and would have their work cut out trying to get their first win on the board against such high quality opposition. As the game progressed it went firmly with the form book.

Adrien Esteve put Foot 130 B 1-0 up and they never looked back. Dmitri Chendjou made it 2-0 before Hippolyte de Fontenay scored for 3-0. Maxime Remesy's second of the tournament made it 4-0 before a Clarence de Fontenay double rounded off a superb 6-0 success.

The next game was the encounter between Mardi Southgate Gras and Mitre FC B. Southgate County made their debut in the 2015 Berlin Fives, where they faced a challenging start, losing 3-0 to Tinniedad & Tobacco and 4-1 to Hurting Berlin. They then turned their fortunes around with wins over Scandittack FC, Fail Madrid, and Rayford Athletic, securing a spot in the Cup competition, only to be narrowly defeated 2-1 by eventual winners Pink Flamingos A. In 2016, at the Lisbon Tournament, they began with a 2-1 victory over SNQTB (Por) and despite narrow losses to World Pinteur and Parques Tejo (Por), they won the Plate with victories over Shrewsbury Townsend and Your Mum.

In the 2017 Mallorca Tournament, Southgate County faced a tough group, finishing fifth but managing a 3-0 win over Whiteley FC before falling 6-2 to Inter Balear. At the 2019 Algarve Open, they fielded two teams; the 1s reached the Plate Semi-Finals after a 2-1 win over Lindfield FC but lost 3-2 to Trilution, while the 2s were defeated 2-0 by Tysers in the Trophy Semi-Finals. Their last Open Age event was the 2022 Lisbon Tournament where Southgate FMU finished third in their group but lost in the Plate QF, and Southgate Rascals, after a tough group stage, were eliminated in the Trophy QF by Skidmarks.

So far today Mardi Southgate Gras were flying with 2 wins from 2 and a chance to go joint top with a third success here. Their opponents were Mitre FC B who had opened up with a draw but slipped to defeat last time out.

Mardi Southgate Gras continued their fine form. In part, this was due to the goalscoring prowess of Luke Kelly in front of goal who added to his Round 1 brace with another brace in this game. He was getting full value for his goals as they lead his team to victories on both occasions. This time there was also a first clean sheet of the day for the Southgate defence. Mardi Southgate Gras were joint top at the end of Round 3.
