Tinniedad & Tobacco were back in action against Misfits FC at the start of Round 3. This was a meeting between two teams who were joint 1st and joint 3rd in Group B. Misfits could make it a 3-team tie at the top with a victory. Tinniedad & Tobacco could open up a 3 point gap at the top (temporarily at least).

It was Tinniedad & Tobacco who opened the scoring with Michael Wilkes third goal in as many games. Wilkes strike meant his team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Could Misfits FC come back? It would be a daunting task against a team who (including this morning's 2 games) had a eurofootballfives.com record of played 15, won 11, drawn 4, lost 0 and scored 40 goals along the way whilst conceding just 14.

It was a task that was beyond Misfits FC as Tinniedad & Tobacco made it 12 in the wins column and chalked up another 5 goals in the “for” column. Misfits did have a consolation making it 15 goals against (Tom Carroll's third goal in two games).

Tinniedad & Tobacco ran out 5-1 victors with Jon McKinley and Will Boulton both scoring twice in the second half.

Poor Johnsbridge FC couldn't catch a break – started against a tough Italian team, then drew the unbeaten Tinniedad & Tobacco and now faced the team joint top at the start of the round in the shape of Cudny Jozef.

They had performed admirably so far and lead against Tinniedad at one stage. A similar performance here might be enough to get them off the mark and up and running in Group B. They held their own in the opening period as the two teams reached the interval level at 0-0.

Cudny Jozef had shown this morning that they knew how to win in tight situations and grind out the results. A 1-0 win and a 2-1 win were testament to that. They were to prove just how adept they were again when Ian Corkill popped up to score the decisive goal that would earn his side another one goal victory.

It was an important goal for Cudny Jozef as it took them back to joint-top of the table although second on goal difference.

For Johnsbridge FC it was close yet no cigar for them. It was important they kept their spirits up in the onslaught of such high quality opposition.

With the two results above, Football Bassano MMIII had seen their two main rivals open up a six point gap on them in the hunt for the Group B title. They did have a game in hand though and this would be against Maverick FC.

Maverick FC had been pointless in their first couple of games but had displayed a disparity between the first and second half performance – in terms of the scores at least. In the first half of their two opening games they had lost by a combined total of 6-0. In the second half of those games they had won 1-0. Could they put a first half performance together here?

In short, yes they could. They kept their illustrious Italian opponents at bay and we entered half-time with neither team able to break the deadlock, 0-0. In a reversal of fortune it was to be the second half that undone Maverick FC here. Francesco Oliverio scored for the second successive game to open the scoring at 1-0.

From there Football Bassano MMIII never looked back. Francesco Oliverio made it 2-0 and Christian Fabris secured the win by making it 3-0. It was a vital win for Football Bassano MMIII who were now in third position with two games to go.
