Poor
Johnsbridge FC couldn't catch a break started
against a tough Italian team, then drew the
unbeaten Tinniedad & Tobacco and now faced
the team joint top at the start of the round
in the shape of Cudny Jozef.
They
had performed admirably so far and lead against
Tinniedad at one stage. A similar performance
here might be enough to get them off the mark
and up and running in Group B. They held their
own in the opening period as the two teams reached
the interval level at 0-0.
Cudny
Jozef had shown this morning that they knew
how to win in tight situations and grind out
the results. A 1-0 win and a 2-1 win were testament
to that. They were to prove just how adept they
were again when Ian Corkill popped up to score
the decisive goal that would earn his side another
one goal victory.
It
was an important goal for Cudny Jozef as it
took them back to joint-top of the table although
second on goal difference.
For
Johnsbridge FC it was close yet no cigar for
them. It was important they kept their spirits
up in the onslaught of such high quality opposition.
