The eurofootballfives.com tour hit Krakow for the ninth time as the Krakow Trophy returned to our schedule in Poland's party capital. 18 teams assembled from 5 proud nations. The sun was shining, the teams were ready…the big kick-off was upon us.

The first two challengers to get us underway in Group A on Pitch A this year would be GSF Drunkerz (Svk) versus Spider Mans & Great Hawk (Eng).

GSF Drunkerz were make a third eurofootballfives.com appearance in Krakow and it was to be their first eurofootballfives.com tournament “on tour”. Their previous two appearances have been on home soil at the Bratislava Fives where they have enjoyed success on both occasions. In 2014 they were victorious in the Plate competition before following this up by winning the Cup competition in 2015.

When they took to the field GSF Drunkerz will became the first Slovakian team to compete outside of Slovakia in eurofootballfives.com competition. It would be a daunting task in their opening fixture against a Spider Mans team that had traditionally performed well in our tournaments.

The two teams reached half-time level at 1-1 with Daniul Badusek and Ben Johns trading goals. In the second half Tomas Carny put the Slovakian side 2-1 ahead but the joy was short-lived as Joe McNamara levelled for 2-2 and the teams earned a point each.

Game 2 of Group A was FC Funtime of Poland versus Always Short of England.

Both teams were making their debuts but FC Funtime did feature a player who played here in the 2013 Krakow Trophy. Stuart Warren played for a Hardly Athletic team who was on a stag weekend and struggled to fifth in their 6-team group. He now resides in Krakow and plays for FC Funtime who were enjoying a brighter start to the tournament. Grzegorz Reizer and Mateusz Wiackowski put FC Funtime 2-0 up at the break.

In the second half there was to be joy for Always Short as they scored their first goal in Europe through Mandeep Basra. However, it would not be enough to see them earn their first points as Grzegorz Reizer went on to complete a hat-trick for FC Funtime as they ran out 4-1 winners.

The final two teams in Group A were Fleet Street Elite 1 of England and Tea Time of Poland.

Fleet Street Elite FC were making a third eurofootballfives.com appearance. They made their debut at the 2013 Lisbon Tournament. They played as “Lads of Lisboa” and made a fine start with a 5-2 victory over Breckland FC. Defeat followed to Hungary's Csabagyongye before victory over FC Dad (1-0) and 2 defeats to the 2 Portuguese sides in their group. They finished 4th in their group and qualified for the Plate Semi-Finals before going out to FC Dynamoes. Their 2nd appearance was at the 2015 Budapest Fives where they finished 4 th in their group to progress to the Plate competition. They drew 2-2 in the Quarter-Finals with Peckham Legends to go on and win the penalty shoot-out. A narrow 1-0 defeat to Spain's Naranjitos saw them exit at the Semi-Final stage.
