Round 5 began with Slavoj Consumer and De Puy Synthes 2 as first place met fourth place. Slavoj Consumer needed just a point to guarantee Cup qualification and a win would guarantee them the Group B title. De Puy Synthes 2 would need a win to have any chance of making the Cup – in a cruel twist of fate 9 points would possibly only be enough to see them finish fourth if over results went against them. This would be cruel as 9 points would mostly be good enough to qualify for the Cup but might not be here.

All De Puy Synthes 2 could do was try to win this game and put their fate in the lap of the gods. At half-time Slavoj Consumer were on their way to the point they needed to secure their place in the Cup as we reached the turnaround all square at 0-0. A draw might be ok for De Puy Synthes 2 if JNJ Poland were to lose by 6 goals – highly unlikely as JNJ Poland had only conceded 4 all day. The onus was therefore on the English team to go out and get all three points.

It was to be Slavoj Consumer who broke the deadlock though with a goal from Lukas Suchy. If De Puy Synthes 2's task was tough at kick-off it was even tougher now – they had to turn this game around with time running out. The next goal of the game killed off their hopes as Suchy scored again to make it 2-0 to the Czechs. The result meant that Slavoj Consumer would be crowned Group B champions – a superb morning's work for them.

It was also a good morning's work for De Puy Synthes 2. They were 6 points better off than this time last year and competed well in all 5 games. They could go into the Plate with confidence.

JNJ Poland entered the penultimate fixture of Group B knowing that a win would secure them a place in the elite Cup competition for the first time. Their opponents would be JNJ Wuppertal who had an outside chance of leapfrogging JNJ Poland into third if they could win by at least 3 goals and if De Puy Synthes 2 failed to beat Slavoj Consumer. They would then need to see if their tally of 7 points would see them through as one of the two best third placed finishers.

Any hopes of reaching the Cup for JNJ Wuppertal were extinguished in the first half as JNJ Poland opened up a 3-1 lead. It meant JNJ Wuppertal would have to score 5 unanswered goals to go through. In fact, the opposite happened as JNJ Poland scored 5 more without reply to record a phenomenal 8-1 win – the second biggest win of the day and JNJ Poland's biggest win in the JNJ Euro Soccer Tournament. JNJ Poland had just lost their first game so we think this qualifies as bouncing back in style.

Jacek Banas opened the scoring for his team and he scored a hat-trick taking him to 7 for the competition with the rest of the goals spread around: Grzegorz Deptula (2), Dawid Paszek, Marcin Zaciek and Artur Wrzesinski. The JNJ Wuppertal goal was scored by Fernandes Mendes Cristovao who capped a fine group phase for him personally and was now on 4 goals today and 11 in total in eurofootballfives.com competition.

Into Game 15 of Group B and there was still JNJ High Wycombe A versus Cilag Team 3 to decide how the table would look in the annals of history. JNJ High Wycombe A were moving through the gears having followed up two draws with two wins. If they could make that 3 wins on the bounce they would finish 2nd in Group B.

For Cilag Team 3 the objective was quite different. They were currently in 6th position and all the teams in 6 th were currently resided on 0 points across Groups A to C. The best of those 6th placed finishers would make the Plate so if they could put some points on the board they would be in pole position.

With the game underway it didn't take long before JNJ High Wycombe A were in the lead through Rob Buckland. He was joint 2nd top goalscorer at the 2014 Bratislava event and his second goal of the day put the English team ahead. Paul Raine doubled the advantage for JNJ High Wycombe A and they were comfortable at 2-0 by half-time.

It was still possible that all 6 th placed teams could finish with 0 points in which case the best goal difference would see decide the best of the finishers – Cilag Team 3 were currently leading the way in the sense so they didn't want this to become a rout. Marcus Dauenhauer bagged his first and his team's fifth goal of the tournament after the break but it was to be a mere consolation as a second half goal from Nicki Mills (now with 5 for the day) ensured it would be JNJ High Wycombe A's third win on the bounce heading into the Cup. Final score, 3-1.
