Slavoj Consumer and JNJ High Wycombe A took to the field at the start of Round 3 with both teams undefeated. Slavoj Consumer lead the way with 2 wins out of 2, JNJ High Wycombe A were down in fourth after 2 draws out of 2. This was a game he defending champions could simply not afford to lose.

The two teams had met before at the 2012 JNJ Euro Tournament in Prague and on that occasion JNJ High Wycombe won 1-0. Slavoj Consumer returned the favour in Budapest 12 months later when they won 1-0 but that was against the High Wycombe B team. The A team would be a tougher proposition.

At half-time we were locked together at 1-1. Goals from Michal Dudon (Slavoj Consumer) and Nicki Mills (High Wycombe A) cancelling each other out. JNJ High Wycombe would not have wanted another draw, they needed a win. We saw at our 2015 Mallorca Tournament last month a good Stanford FC team draw their first 4 games which had seen their confidence suffer losing their final group game and going out in the Plate Quarter-Finals. JNJ High Wycombe could still qualify for the Cup if this finished at 1-1 but a win would do wonders for their psychological well-being if they could get a first win of their day under their belts.

The sense of relief was palpable when Nicki Mills scored his third goal in two games to put JNJ High Wycombe A 2-1 up. Slavoj Consumer were unable to find a winner as they slipped to their first defeat of the day. The defending champions were now up and running and just 1 point behind the current Group B leaders.

Cilag Team 3 and JNJ Poland were back in action and the next teams to take to the field on Pitch B. Cilag Team 3 came into Round 3 on the back of two narrow defeats (2-1 and 4-2) and needed a win to kick-start their tournament campaign. JNJ Poland walked on to the pitch with 4 points from a possible 6 and the chance to go top of the table if they could take victory.

JNJ Poland's games had been low-scoring so far (0-0 and 1-0) but they found themselves amongst the goals in the first half here. Jacek Banas scored the first two goals of this game meaning he had scored all of JNJ Poland's goals up until this point before Dawid Paszek made it 3-0 – it was only half-time. The pattern continued in the second half as Artur Wrzesinski scored twice to wrap up a 5-0 win.

JNJ Poland had surged to the summit of Group B and were yet to concede a goal – they were looking in very good form. For Cilag Team 3 it was a heavy defeat and they had two more group games to turn their fortunes around.

JNJ Wuppertal came into Round 3 having just taken a point off the 2014 tournament winners and would no doubt have renewed confidence having suffered defeat in the opening round. De Puy Synthes 2's form was going the other way – opening game win, second game defeat but it was a 1-0 defeat to the current league leaders so they should not be too disheartened.

If you were looking for goals Group B was not a bad place to start – games averaged 3.80 goals and this was to be an above average game in that respect as we had five goals to enjoy. Whilst defences and goalkeepers probably would not have enjoyed it the attacking players on the pitch filled their boots. It was close game with both teams finding the target and the game would be decided by the odd goal in five.

As the final whistle blew it was De Puy Synthes 2 who would raise their arms victorious thanks to goals from James Dunstan, Dalian Cash and Kurt Brown. The final score was 3-2 with Basak Erdem and Fernandes Mendes Cristovao on target in an ultimately losing cause for the German team. Fernandes Mendes Cristovao was now on 2 goals today one behind his tally of 3 in 2013 and just two behind his total of 4 at the 2012 tournament. This was his 9th goal in eurofootballfives.com competition.

It was a huge result for De Puy Synthes 2 as they were joint second in the table (3rd on goal difference).
