So,
who would meet Bolivar in the Final? Would it
be Giggs Boson FC or Shahs of Sunset. The only
thing we knew for sure was that it would be an
England v Spain final.
Giggs
Boson FC came into the game with renewed vigour
having secured their long-awaited third win of
the day last time out. Shahs of Sunset had just
secured their third consecutive win on the bounce
and were looking to reach a second European final
in a row. They reached the Plate Final in Lisbon
last year where they picked up runners-up medals
after a 2-0 defeat to Frank Hirth B.
Anes
Jusic was proving to be the main marksman for
Shahs of Sunset today. He had 5 goals in his previous
3 games and he was the man of the moment again
as he gave Shahs of Sunset a 1-0 lead. The lead
did not last for long as Will Davis's seventh
goal of the day put Giggs Boson FC on level terms.
Adrian
Satue's third of the tournament for Shahs of Sunset
put them back in the lead at 2-1. Giggs Boson
FC were showing true resilience as they bounced
back to make it 2-2 with Conor Lawson taking his
tally for the day to 5.
Could
Shahs of Sunset take the lead again? If they were
to do so they would need to equalize first as
Giggs Boson hit the front with Conor Lawson's
second of the game. They lead for the first time
but just at the right time. Final score, 3-2.
It
was all over for Shahs of Sunset for this year.
A valiant effort with just 5 fit players at the
end and we thank them for their continued support
of our tournaments.
